Green Day Haters / people bashing you for being a Green Day fan?

Today I had an excursion to go on and we got to wear casual cloths and I thought I would wear my GD tee-shirt. I got onto the bus and I had people going GD’s gay! Why do you like them? Ohh your so emo! And one thing really got my attention was they thought I was a groupie and that I only liked GD for their looks and that I was like in love with Billie Joe!! That really pissed me off!

At school I have people call me emo and wright it all over the tables all because I like GD and one boy asked me when I went to a GD concert did it slit my wrists when I was there because that’s what all GD fans do!! All I won’t is to wear my GD top and like them with out people saying stuff.

Dose this happen to you?

Honestly, those people who say Green Day is EMO know nothing about them, it sounds to me like they just wanted to give you a reason to make you mad (and its not even a good reason). Eventhough my whole school knows what a big fan I am because of the broadcast, sure, I get some people telling me that they don't like them, and that's fine. Most of the time is to joke around or try to get me mad, but they know that I don't care what they say about them, and they leave me alone. You gotta understand that eveyone has a different opinion about music and unfortunately not eveyone will like what you like. You can listen to whatever they tell you but in the end, it's your opinion that still counts over everyone elses.

if you think its bad what people say bout GD now, you should have seen what it was like 6-7 years ago. im a lil older then some of you and i remember when i first got into GD back then, people hated them. i got so much crap from people it wasnt even funny. now, after they've become more popular and have a few songs that the 'preps' like, they're not taking all the heat. lol also like GD says, i was into punk rock before it was cool....doesnt that make me feel old

yesterday for me was bag on green day day cuz i wore my tshirt for the first time in 3 or so months

I was walking to my friends luch table and as I passed by this kid who yells "green day, POSER!!"

But, you just have to ignore them and come to terms that they don't know what real music is.

I wore my Green Day shirt in P.E and someone got a lighter out of their' bag and literally tried to set it on fire. Fortunatly it was confiscated of him after a teacher saw me defending the shirt. hehe

People always ask me, "Man, why do you like Green Day? They suck!".. I just normally reply with, "Why do you like your bands?.. It's a personal decision and call me what the hell you want, but you're only proving yourself to be more of an asshole."

Then i get people who try to turn me off Green Day for the most stupid and ridiculous reasons. Yesterday someone from my class aproached me and the first thing they said was, "Did you know Billie Joe is gay?".. I just blankly stared at him as if saying, 'If you know, and you're not one eight of a Green Day fan that i am, then of course i would bloody know.' No-one in my school is 1/2 the Green Day fan i am.

Why do people care about their' sexuality? It's a personal choice, get over it, people! So i just nod and tell them to piss off, or something relevent to that.

I only know of two other people who like Green Day at my school. Which is ok because i have someone to hum their tunes with in Maths ;D

People call me obsessed, a freak, emo, goth, ect. And they're partially correct about some of them. Obssesive, definatly. I normally wear my Green Day shirt under my school shirt, Bring a Green Day wallet to school, Wear Green Day shoes, Have on all of my books pictures of Green Day (Which people try to stab.. No happy with that..) and my Ipod is covered with Green Day stickers.

I am not neccessarely(Sp?) Goth or Emo. Neither are Green Day. It depends what people think and what they want to think about them.

I'm sick of it, but am also always read to defend them. Sometimes i just walk away and roll my eyes, as if to laugh at them in pitty.

Well, that's my two cent ramble type.. thing.
