In 6th grade, my friends and I used to talk about Green Day CONSTANTLY during lunch; we would talk about different albums, the concert we went to, and of course, wear Green Day shirts. Apparently people thought we were freaks, which...whatever, so a SHITLOAD of kids got together when it was time to leave and gathered in front of the exit chanting at us, "GREEN DAY SUCKS! GREEN DAY SUCKS!"

It wasn't just a small group, either. It was probably a third of the lunch room. The deans just kind of stood there for awhile, arms crossed, and THEN told them to stop. I was laughing so hard! Rofl.

OH, and this one jackass stopped hanging out with us that year because these girls he thought were really hot kept asking him why he was hanging out with a bunch of Green Day freaks.

In 7th grade, kids used to gather around me asking me why I liked them, and in history, people would trip me and shit when I'd walk inside because of the fact that I liked them (they'd say they sucked as they did it). This one loser, who had a TERRIBLE taste in music, used to go on about how September is over already and how Billie Joe needs to stop singing about it.

Pfft.

It's funny, because at the high school I'm at now, people are always wearing Green Day shirts, and I don't think I've had a single insult this year. Yeah.

It’s horrific when you start to think about the time and money that has been spent on making this band of talentless hacks megastars in the same realm as U2 or Pearl Jam, both of whom probably have more right to be there if you think about it. It’s no wonder that the Ramones never had a hit when you think about the depths that this band has had to stoop to in order to break through into the mainstream. I don’t know how they sleep at night.

Why can't people just be who they want to be without being persecuted? I say I like Green Day, and some of my friends do, but others are just like "Why?" and i'm like, "Why not? They obviously influence me and make me happy, why can't you just accept that?". People really need to just mind their own business and find better things to do, other than trying to bring others down for their own personal preferences.

That they used to be good and now they suck very much.

I listen what i like and i'm not gonna change that because of haters or because of some people that are disappointed with them.

In Denmark people aren't as cruel, but by some reason, no matter who you tell that you're a Green Day fan goes: ''Oh, they just really suck'' either because they think they're too metal (WHAT..?!) or to pop (??!).. But it seems that all of them are just talking shit, 'cause when there's a GD song on the radio or they hear one of my CD's, they're like: ''Aw, that's just such a good song, who is that..??''

I suppose some people just talk bad about Green Day because they think everybody else does.. I'm just happy not to be one of them!!

Yesterday I had conversation with a guy from my school and he knows that I like GD so we started to talk about them. He thought Green Day has only ONE Album (American Idiot), and then he started to talk about how cool Hip Hop and R'n'B music is. i mean WTF??!

I started to talk with my friend about GD, and he said he lost respect to them after coming out of 21CB.

So I said that you have to be really in Green Day to listen to 21CB, that they all the time experiment with music and I don't think if the last CD was crap.

Than he said that they refresh some old tracks form succesfull CDs and the conceptions are very simmilar, and than he made the funniest thing ever- he compared 21 Guns to Time Of Your Life, Viva La Gloria to She and Know Your Enemy to WMUWSE (idk how you, but I REALLY can't see anything similar in this combiantions).

I said that it's really funny and it doesn't make any sense to me. That AI and 21CB was written as rock operas and everyone was comparazing them, cause noone could believe that they can do something good after recording AI. And everyone was bashing them for becoming commercial band. And I said that I do not compare any of their songs cause I don't need it. The most important thing to me is that they play really good rock, their concerts are just great and they do their best.

So he answered that he dosn't look at their image and he only judges their music and as he can see they're not invited to any of big festivals.

I listed him all list of Summer Tour and added that AI on Brodway sells great.

But for him the most important thing was that they don't play at Glastonbury, Lollapaloza or Reading. And they're getting worse.

So I told that they can't get wose if they got Grammy for Best Rock Album

And FUCK he said that Lady Gaga also get Grammy.

Well, my friend Shannon is always saying Green Day is gay, my kind of friend Justin is always saying they suck and they're gay...

And this Brandon kid is always making fun of them, saying they suck, they're gay, I'm stupid for liking them, I'm a freak for liking them... They've never made a good song, stuff like that.

Sometimes a bunch of guys will group up and start shouting shit about Green Day so I can hear them. I've nearly pounded them upside the head with my backpack.

But their efforts are wasted, I think I've learned to love Green Day more because I'm encouraged to be different from anyone else. If everyone else hates them, I'm afraid to be like that, so I respect and cherish Green Day even more.
