Green Day Haters / people bashing you for being a Green Day fan?

I'm now going to enlighten you all with my rather bland story.

Funny story actually.. Ok so I was on the way back from green day's first gig at the LG Arena (Birmingham 27th) and I was sat on this train opposite these four people (who had obviously had a tad too much to drink). And there was this woman who was all like "that was average really, they didnt play many songs that I liked. And whats with pulling all these kids up on stage? I didnt pay £40 to see kids sing there songs"

So anyways I was minding my own buisness when the bloke who was with them asked me if i had a good night and he was saying that he disagreed and thought that it was good. Well this stupid woman just went on and on and on about how she didnt like what they played and blah blah blah. So anyways I was just sat there thinking to myself "im so glad Jordan and the rest of the Rocktober crew arent here right now, because you would be getting a right bashing right now" Yeah i kinda wished they were there just because it would have been funny.

Anyways just before they got off the train (thank fuck) the dude asked me what my favourite band was.. I said "you've just been to see them" and then they all gave me this really dirty look. If i hadnt of been soaked to the skin in sweat and so exhausted i probably would've said something.. but i just couldnt be assed. I had a good time and thats all that mattered.

Ergh.. I just hate it when people expect GD to play only the songs that they like. Do they not realise they have to cater for the other 18000 or however other many people there are in the arena? And GD is known for getting the audience involved...

I should have told her to go fuck herself!

The guys can't play everyone's favourite songs, they would have to play every song they made, every gig over and over again

When I was on the tram in Antwerp when the gig had just finished some people were saying that the guy who got up on stage in Antwerp, got up on stage every gig and knew beforehand he was going to be picked because he could actually sing and looked comfortable on stage... I was like : hello they get people on stage every gig and sometimes they're so awful they have to put the mic volume down we were just lucky the guy could sing

How ridiculous is that to think something like that? Green Day love their fans

I got a lot of Green Day haters yelling things like "Green Day suck" to me on Thursday, because i wore the shirt i had brought from the tour to sixth form. I just ignored them and thought 'Well it didn't seem that way when i saw them live twice the other week, since i had the nights of my life" and it made me feel so much better. I didn't give them the satisfaction of a response.

Well, my sister is a ned (scottish folk will know what i'm talking about, those who dont, google/youtube it)

So, all i hear is "greenday are heavy shite but, why dont ye listen tae good music"

But i generally tend to ignore her (her music is nothing but rave with heavy beats and chipmunk voices) some friends and other people who think my music taste is 'sad, crap' etc.

Green Day aren't old!!!!!! BJ is only like 37 or summit!!! I think most anti-GD/old-gate people's problems are that they are about 15 years old and can't see past 20- to them that is really 'grown up'. I'm 23 and I'm still a baby! (Although having a little girl made me grow up a bit quicker :-P). My bf is 30 in January- is he old??? lol

GD are on the cusp of middle-age, they haven't started rolling down the other side of the hill yet- retirement age in England is 65 (soon to be upped) so if grandad over there can still do his job why shud GD be dismissed from theirs at almost half his age?

And on a personal note, 15 years older than me or not- I sooooo wud BJ ;-) mature guys are sooo much hotter!

My bf never used to be that fussed about GD until I got tickets for this yr tour and even in the arena forum he still wasn't that enthusiastic. But we got in their and he LOVED IT. He knew none of the words but shouted along to every song anyway lol. He was buzzing when it finished and sed they were the best live he had ever seen- so it goes to show.

I suggest that next time someone says Green Day are old you remind them that they will be that 'old' one day and that then it won't seem so old after all!

Rant over- just alot of comments on here about people saying they're too old and it bugs me lol

I don't think I've ever had anyone bash me for liking Green Day...

I think the worst I have had (which isn't bad at all) is when my brother (who likes some of Green Days songs and was the person who got me into GD) always used to call Billie, Billie Joe Armflab (in stead of Armstrong) he called Tre, Tre' Un-Cool (in stead of Cool) and Mike, Mike Dirt (in stead of Dirnt).

My little sister used to like them but she says that I listened to them too much and now she's annoyed with them..but she would tell anyone that they're an amazing live band...she told me that next time I go to a concert that she would like to go.

And than there is this one Girl in my art class, her favorite band is Nirvana (which I also love) and she was like..Green Day isn't the best band out there..and than my friend Kaitlyn was like shh its Isha's favorite band! And than the girl was like oh I'm sorry!! and I was like its all good but you are SO WRONG!!!!!

But whatever to each there own all that matters is that I LOVE GREEN DAY!!!! Becasue I know my self that I have put down other bands that people are really passionate about like My Chemical Romance...I can't stand them...I made I guy at the Green Day concert I went to in July sad about some of the things I said about MCR when he told me that They were his first favorite band and Green Day was his second. I was like :down: and than he was like and I was like :whistling: and than he was like..But I love Green Day! so I was like good boy. lol. There. Bye..

I have ppl mock the music I listen to all the time. I just ignore them. I really don't give a shit what ppl think. They don't like my GD shirt, then maybe they shouldn't look at it. They don't like my music, then don't listen to it. Simple as that.

Sure there are bands I hate, but I can't imagine bagging someone out for liking something. People are just fucked up.

I was going to this concert of a band an old friend and I used to love, and she commented on facebook saying they were so shit now and she didn't understand why I was going to see them live. Turns out they are a very good live band and I had a really good time. Why people feel the need to bring other people down for liking something is beyond me.

hahaha I love getting hated on, because some people have the worst excuses for why they "suck".

Today I was showing one of my friends the picture of Billie where he's playing his Gretsch and since it's such a huge guitar and he's so tiny, plus the way he wears his guitars way low, it looks like it swallows him and he's having to stretch to reach the strings. We were laughing at how little he looked and one of my other friends came up and wanted to see. He's a guitarist and thinks he knows everything about it on occasion, and after seeing the picture he goes "well y'know how you can tell a good guitarist?" I asked how and he said it's because they won't wear their guitar low. He goes, "He's not a very good guitarist, and you can tell even by looking at him. Don't worry, there are lots of famous guitar players that really aren't that good, and they almost all do that." and went on to say that Slash is one of them, blahblahblah.

I stopped listening at that point, because he was obviously just talking to be talking. After he walked off, I laughed so hard...since when does low guitar = bad guitarist automatically?
