Everyone i know thinks that if you like green day you have to be obsessed and that it is so wrong to like green day lol i dont get why they think like that :lol:

I've been taunted ever since middle school for liking Green Day, and I bet because of Green Day that's why I'm a better person than a lot of those dicklickers... The only artists that aren't old now are Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift.

Sorry, I haven't been to the year 3,000 nor do I care how it is, I'm not climbing a mountain and I don't care about "just being miley" and if I wanted to hear a love story, I'd read one.

To be honest, I like Green Day NOW, they're one of the only bands that I can say are good now and have always been good.

Some bands I listen to, I'm like hmm well I like old them, but now they aren't really as good.

Currently at dorm I'm in a band thats not to crazy about Green Day, just for their style, but we're at a compromise to do covers of their songs

Practically everyone in my class hates Green Day, the only person I know who likes them is my bf from primary school. Even she's not a big fan (she prefers MCR) :)

hahaha, two years ago we were going to choose a song that we'd learn as a band in my music class, and I suggested wake me up when september ends. the response was just "noooo! wtf, thats emo!!!"

we ended up learning 'we're not gonna take it'.

Ha! Ya know, I'm old...(about 40, if you care) Anyway, the fun thing for me when wearing GD shirts? The teenage kids that come up to me and wink like we've got some shared secret.

Honestly, it kinda takes me back. I had a great time at rock shows as a kid, and I'm glad other youngsters still care about these things. It's such a blast to see all the kids down on the floor going nuts when they get up front, get pulled on the stage, etc.

p.s. - I have some actual punk rock cred, having seen the likes of Dwarves, Lyres, Black Flag, etc. back in the day - hell, I got to see Billie's beloved Replacements. So I can tell you with some degree of confidence that GREEN DAY IS AWESOME!

They have the best fans, too. ;)

Oh, and yeah, I get attitude from friends of mine who don't get why I love GD. All I ever say is, "Have you ever seen them live? No? Then shut the HELL up, you have no idea what you're talking about. Srsly."

I usually get shit from my friends when I talk about Green Day. Then I remind them it's me who loves them, they don't have to concern themselves with my favorite band. I don't play any Green Day when I'm around certain people, but if I want to wear a Green Day shirt, I will. They can bitch all they want about it, but it's not going to change my opinion. If they really hate who my favorite band is, that's their problem. I've told them this before too. :D

Or, if it's a bunch of assholes who say something, I just tell them to fuck off. I really don't care what they think.

I used to "hate" them, even though I didn't know anything about them. :ninja: I probably would've joined that group a couple of years ago if someone had asked me to. I used to think that they were emo (in a bad way) and that they were sell-outs. :cry:
