Or, in simplest terms: because Abercrombie & Fitch said it was only cool to like this or hate that. A&F brainwashes people, but it hasn't worked on me. It's just ruined my life though, i'm alienated at school for not following trends. Abercrombie & Fitch is Hitler with trends. Hollister is Fidel Castro. Aeropostle is Che fucking Guevara.

If Abercrombie and Fitch said it was uncool to breathe, almost everyone in my school would be dead. I'd be standing there on the side, laughing my ass off at the schmucks who jumped on the bandwagon.

People make the most idiotic comments whenever I wear a shirt with any kind of graphic on it. Whenever I wear a GD shirt and someone goes "Oh, you like Green Day?" I'm so tempted to respond "No, can't stand them, I spent $20 on this shirt for the heck of it."

Well it's normal when you decide to support a band that let tons of fans down for whatever reason they did. When you change, there's people that will like it and people that won't. People like picking on other people's musical tastes too.

If you want to be respected, buy a "Recipe for Hate" or "Suffer" t-shirt and those people will stop picking on you. But that'd be selling out too (changing yourself so other people like you).

I was wearing a GD t-shirt at summer school a few weeks ago, and some kid about 2 years younger than me was wearing an AI shirt. I went up to him and said "how many GD albums have you got?"

I'm sorry but quizzing someone and giving them a hard time just because they're not very knowledgeable about a band is a bit ridiculous.

Back when I first got into Green Day around AI time I had no internet and no way of finding out about them. I remember I'd bought Dookie and said to someone I'd bought "Green Day's first album" and he scoffed at me. It didn't make me feel silly at all because I couldn't care less that I wasn't an expert on a band I'd just got into, it just made me think he was a dickhead. Everyone has to start liking a band sometime and they're not going to know everything about them from the word go.
