Milan. Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 oi it's mine and Ingrids job here to be worst fan and runner up worst fan, so fuck off. i dont think anyone can take away their Jobs off hating Green Day, then again theirs probably a heap of them on here who have moved onto other musical tastes and are more varied, who have realised Green Day wasnt the be all, end all of everything
Sunshine2385 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I still don't get if you don't like a band, why go on their forums just to say you're not a fan? If you announce it to everyone, are we going to care? Don't waste your time.

atara111 Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 I've never got that shit for liking Green Day.Once in while I get "they dont have real music, every song is based on 5 chords"and I say "So what?".Like who cares? they have great lyrics AND great music. so what's the problem?all of the peple who say that are just pathetic and they can fuck off. You, my friend, are utterly ridiculous and absurd. I find that I am pretty damn mature, and guess what? I still like Green Day. For once being a fanatic, you have several things wrong regarding Green Day. Green Day has always been a band that writes songs based on what they feel and/or what is going on in their life. For Dookie, they've dealt with some pretty difficult things- being curious about one's sexuality, being out on your own for the first time, and watching a long, lost friend become something you detest. Maybe that sounds a bit juvenile to you, but let's keep in mind that the guys were still young- 22. That's roughly my age, and most people go through that stuff at that age. When you're at that age, it can get pretty damn scary having to deal with that shit. A year later, Insomniac came out. Songs about dealing with new-born infants, having daily anxiety attacts, moving thousands of miles away to try to fulfill some sort of dream, and just reflecting back on your life thus far came about. That's not all that immature. That's real life and all of that can make or break a person. Nimrod dealt with similar issues. Now, enter Warning. Warning is filled with hatred for that hard life. It deals with politics, police, depression, the insanity of commercialism, and having difficulties with one's family. Once again, this is not immaturity. This is real life. It's hatred that a lot of people feel. I think what your problem is is that you just listen to the songs that are goofy and aren't meant to be taken so seriously. But that's how life is- you have things that are fun and then you have shit happen that sucks and you have to be serious. Green Day have grown up in their music- it's evident by just looking at their lyrics and correlating that with their lives. Green Day writes with truth. They write what they feel. To say that their music is immature is to call them immature, and that is extremely wrong. They did not spend a decade being little shits and then get serious. They didn't go from drugs to politics. It was a hill that they climbed. You just completely missed it. Maybe one day, you'll go back and just listen to the lyrics and realize how wrong you are. Maybe one day, you'll learn that not everything in music can just be simply stated as if it were a personal journal. You have to look into things and you have to think... or maybe that's the problem- you're incapable of thinking. Maybe you're still too immature to understand songwriting as it relates to one's life. Maybe you have yet to experience some of these things and are otherwise unable to completely understand the level of intelligence and maturity needed to cope with such circumstances and experiences. Or maybe you're just a damn moron who wants to tear everyone down. Whatever you are, I hope one day you learn. Have a nice day.You ROCK!

saurus Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 She has huge boobs that she's always touching and she always runs around yelling anime Japanese crap. And then this Korean kid came to our school and she's always like dry humping him. That actually made me giggle. Lots. To be honest, I have got past the point in caring what people think about the music I listen to.Some people like it. Others hate it. I'm allowed to dislike other people's taste in music, so therefore I see no wrong if people dislike my taste in music.I usually end up coming out with the whole, "Okay, but to be honest, So what? I don't listen to music because you like it, I listen to music because I like it."
Marc. Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I still don't get if you don't like a band, why go on their forums just to say you're not a fan? If you announce it to everyone, are we going to care? Don't waste your time.I use to be a fan.
{sPaZzCaSe} Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I'm confused by society, you know? Just when we thought everyone got along and we all wanted to sing Kum-Bye-Ah by the fire and hold hands, some one has to just go and piss everyone off. Why let it get to you? Why let stuff like that bother anyone? If they're making fun of you, then they have insecurities about themselves. Either the person picking on you lacks attention, or they just lack a life in general. People who love something just love it. No one should have to prove anything. So let it go, it's not that big of a deal. Five years from now, no one is going to give a damn about who yelled at you while you were wearing your Green Day t-shirt. Life goes on.
The One Called Whatshername Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I get bitched at all the time for liking Green Day. It used to get to me a bit, but I'm over it. I just let it slide.
FruscianteForPrez08 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I get shit all the time, mainly for Green Day/for my hair. I used to care a lot in 8th grade, but I realized it's stupid now. People waste precious time bitching about how this band or that band sucks and don't focus on bands they actually like. Plus, most people who tell me GD sucks are people who don't have any knowledge pre-2004, which makes a "they sold out and suck" argument useless... If you are gonna argue that they used to be good but now they sold out and suck, for the sake of an argument you better start at Nimrod...
whatsername361 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 i remember during my freshmen year, i got called an pro-war for liking Green Day :| that sucked.
Doug Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 well something crazy happened to my class. everyone decided to grow up i guess. until this year people have bitched that this bands gay and that bands for emo chicks. but no one really cares anymore and my friends respect my music. so im proud to wear green day shirts around, support what ive come to know and love.
+TaMaRamAaaAa+ Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Well I do know a lot of people that don't really like green day at my school, and they sometimes do say something bad about them, but they never try to insult me (or whatever) just because I like green day. But I think that people who DO do that are really sad bastards, I mean, wtf? Don't you have more important things to do than make fun of someone because he likes something YOU don't?! You know, I could go around my school making fun of everyone that they're idiots because they don't like the best fuckin band ,Green Day, but I don't because I just don't give a damn, and you know... it's just stupid.
Melly. Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Marc picks on me for listening to Poprocks And Coke.
+TaMaRamAaaAa+ Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I got onto the bus and I had people going GD’s gay! Why do you like them? Ohh your so emo! And one thing really got my attention was they thought I was a groupie and that I only liked GD for their looks and that I was like in love with Billie Joe!! That really pissed me off!At school I have people call me emo and wright it all over the tables all because I like GD and one boy asked me when I went to a GD concert did it slit my wrists when I was there because that’s what all GD fans do!! Sorry if this topic has been made because I did look. And since when is Green Day emo??!!!! Green Day is anything BUT emo, that's just the stupidest thing I've heard, that moron really doesn't know anything about music.

Green Day is anything BUT emo, that's just the stupidest thing I've heard, that moron really doesn't know anything about music. You know what else bugs me? Apart from people not liking Green Day? People who dislike and insult people because they don't like Green Day.We bitch about how much we want opinions, so why aren't other people allowed opinions?Yeah, so what we might not like them, but surely everybody is entitled to their own, and to believe what they want to believe?
