I get that kinda thing all the time, not just for liking GD but because I love some things that "fell out of fashion" some years ago, for instance I like pokemon and play the games, thus I am known as pokemon freak who gets "PIKACHU" shouted at me wherever i go, or sometimes it's just because I like rock music when I'm "supposed" to like trance and gangsta rap, the least i'l say is that there not my favourite genre's... but It just dosn't bother me, if anything I don't wanna fit in with the sheep and the people who have no real intrest in "popular" things but wanna be in. I just think at least I have a life were I am happy when doing the things I enjoy rather than pretending.

I sometimes get shit for liking Green Day (from a guy who likes 50 Cent, no less), but I don't care. I don't let it get to me, and neither should you. But, I've made tonnes of friends because of our common liking of Green Day (none of which are "emos" or the like).

i got a lot of shit when i first started listening to green day. it was just after warning came out (although i didn't know that), and i'd just bought nimrod and dookie (in belgium, of all places!). anway, i was sat in a physics lesson at school and i told one of my friends about green day.

the 'cool kids' (you know, the ones who are complete potheads and only attend one lesson a week, and spend their times graffiting bus stops), turned around and said: "Green Day? You fucking loser, i bet you only listen to minority", to which i replied "whats minority? i like basket case". anyway, this little chat soon turned into an argument, with them threatening to beat the shit out of me for liking green day. i laughed, and they got thrown out of class.

anway, i stuck by green day for the next few years, until AI came out, and then sudenly everyone wanted to borrow the old albums off me! and then fucking 10 year olds started liking green day, and i was back to being called a loser.

fuck them, i like green day, who cares what everyone else thinks. wankers.

You know when you aren't worthy of being a Green Day fan? When you totally mis-interpret what they stand for and forget that you are supposed to be an individal.

It's not post-American Idiot fans that annoy me, it's anyone that forgets what individualism is, and forget what Billie Joe and Green Day as a whole I guess have been writing about for so many years. You shouldn't care what people think about you, wether you're wearing a Britney Spears, Sex Pistoles, Toby Keith, or Green Day shirt. You shouldn't wake up in the morning hoping to impress anyone. And if someone is going to be a dick toward you for anything you wear, or for anything at all and that makes you upset, then you've failed all on your own. If someone calls you a groupie or emo and that pisses you off, then maybe you deserve to be made fun of.
