I was wearing a GD shirt and this random kid by my locker was like "I don't like Green Day" and I just gave him an I don't give a shit look and said "...And?"

Honestly. I hate when people have to make some stupid comment like that. If I see someone wearing a shirt of some band I don't like, I'm not gonna be like "[bANDNAME] SUCKS!!" That's so pointless.

I've been a GD fan since around '93, and when they signed to a major my boy & most of our friends at the time immediately stopped listening to them. So I've been hearing crap for almost 14 years!! I was kind of a "closeted" GD fan for awhile, but as you grow older you start to not care so much about what others think. I'm 32 and let me tell you life goes by in a flash & it's too short to worry about crap other people say. You don't have to defend who you are or what music you like. If people say GD is emo or gay or whatever (as if being gay is an insult) say "yeah, i guess so." Don't waste your energy arguing. I know it's hard not to, but save your energy for the important stuff.

when people say green day or anything i like sucks i normally say *sarcastic voice* "wow i like totally care what you think, now you who i really admire tells me that the band i like sucks im going to go straight home and tear down all my posters, god go get a life" or "is this the bit where i care?" or "so whats your point?"

once some stupid slut was bagging my friend for being really smart she was calling her a nerd and stuff and i turned around and said "well at least amala (my friend) wont have prostitution (sp?) on her resume" i then had to explain what a resume was. and the same friend and i were reading in the library and it was cold so she was leaning on me and i had me arm around her and they called us lesbians not that i care i have nothing against lesbians, and i said to my friend when they walked off "im surprised there in here i didnt think they could read"

i'll be listening to green day on my mp3 player, and then they'll say, "green day sucks", i kno there's people out there that dont like green day, but i really dont care if they like green day or not. it's not like they get to pick what music i get to listen to and i honestly dont dont care if they like or don't like green day or not

i get crap all the time at school, theres a group of kids who are always following me around chanting hip hop punk rock (doesnt even make sense in fact bordering on oxy moron) and asking me how green day are :/ ....but i wear my green day merch and maintain a healthy 'fuck you' attitude

There's a chick in my grade who asked me if i slit my wrists, cause i always have a wristband on my right wrist (for guitar, and there's a tan mark there now) and was all embarrassed when i pulled it off and nothing was there except skin and freckles. She asked to look at my mp3 to see the songs, and said "oh my god, you, like, listen to all emo music" i replied with "It's not emo. Emo people should die in a hole and be eaten by carnivourous star fish." she asked me if i wanted an emo girl from our school to die. i said yes, cause she's a poser and only likes emo cause there are heaps of other people aswell. Like the girl who cut her hair short, dyed it black, wore black clothes to look like Billie Joe and had her rich parents pay for her to go see Green Day in Sydney. (we live 2000 kms (1200 miles) away). and her friend who's parents bought her a gibson for her first guitar.

Tbh i don't get much trouble for liking green day i get more trouble for liking bands like MCR, fftl etc.

The only thing i get called is a sell out every now and again.

For awhile i wouldn't wear any green day stuff because i was really unsure of them and the fact their merch is selling in claires accesories. But now i'm like do you know what, fuck it, i like them and i don't care about anything else

onf of my best friends hates green day. She always talks shit about them. BUt the strange thing is that it was her who get me into them, she used to listen to them and then she got a boyfriend over the internet and he hated green day (tough he used to love them berfore) so then she started to hate them.

I just doesnt care, she can go to hell.
