**kookai** Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 just remember the good times you had liking green day, you will change just like your taste in music/bands will change, change is good, make a negative into a positive
Hermione Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I've got Nimrod playing right now. I listen to them every day, in fact I think barely a day has gone by in the last 3 years I haven't heard them, but I still listen to lots of other music too. There's 2 types of music - Green Day music and non-Green Day music. I listen to each about 50/50.

Hermione Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Some of us still listen to Green Day, but aren't fucking obsessives.Haha whereas a fucking obsessive is exactly what I am.
billiejoe3272 Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Haha whereas a fucking obsessive is exactly what I am.i'll join that club with yougreen day runs through the vains...lolExcuse me?your excused
Hermione Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 a true green day fanman there aint many of them aound hereI don't see it like that at all. There's no such thing as a "true" fan. Yeah I like them loads, but that doesn't mean I think I'm superior to someone who only likes them a bit or not at all. As far as I'm concerned, even if you only half-like one song, you can call yourself a fan just as much as anyone else.Everyone has different musical tastes, it's not a big deal. Saying to someone "you don't like Green Day" isn't an insult. Not everyone likes them, who cares?
Drink Drank Punk Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 yeah same.. its just cause ive heard it so many times, and the artist i have the most on my ipod is green day, so htey always come up and i want to hear something different.i love them and stuff but i can get sick of them sometimes too.its like eating waffles every morning. id get sick of eating it my god.I couldn't agree more. I listened to them yesterday but I hadn't listened to them for months before that.
BabsBurnoutGirl Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I go through phases I haven't really listened to much Green Day for a while, just a little 1039 SOSH here and there.I should start putting them back onto playlists... But the thing is, Green Day is like comfort food. I'll always go back to it, but you can't have it all the time.OR YOU'LL GET FAT.
Ila Reto Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 yeah same.. its just cause ive heard it so many times, and the artist i have the most on my ipod is green day, so htey always come up and i want to hear something different.i love them and stuff but i can get sick of them sometimes too.its like eating waffles every morning. id get sick of eating it my god.yea, i know how that is. i mean, i basically "got into music" a little over 2 years ago. guess what band?so, i've spent these past 2 years or so going about just buying album after album. i didn't focus on other bands, i had over 15 years of green day to make up for, and i was determined to do so. i joined fansites (i used to be active in 10 out of 13) and read up on them as much as i possibly could. it took up alot of fucking time, it still does. When i say "green day's the only thing i know", i mean it. im not a teenie who says that as an excuse to be punk anymore, it's just who i am. im not fond of it sometimes either, i hear the same albums over and over, no wonder why i was pratically jumping for joy when FHT came out...finally something new!but it's kind of strange, hell, you can say im kind of strange when it comes to music. But the thing is, Green Day is like comfort food. I'll always go back to it, but you can't have it all the time.OR YOU'LL GET FAT.then i'm obese
Guest laurarols Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 ^^ yeah i know exactly what you mean.. that was me in like 8th or 7th grade.. it was crazy.. i was totally obsessed.. HAHARESEARCHED EVERYTHING my god.. i saved all the pictures of them i could find (totally serious EVERY SINGLE ONE), and avatars and everything HAHA.. my god. i had them well organized on my computer.
Ali Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I still listen to Green Day regularly.I bad BLVD. of Broken Dreams stuck in my head today while I was walking through target hahaha..And the other day, I kept singing Hitchin a Ride to mi madre.Yeah, Im cool..But, mhm, Green Day will never fade away in my household, someone is always listening to them..
Ila Reto Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 ^^ yeah i know exactly what you mean.. that was me in like 8th or 7th grade.. it was crazy.. i was totally obsessed.. HAHARESEARCHED EVERYTHING my god.. i saved all the pictures of them i could find (totally serious EVERY SINGLE ONE), and avatars and everything HAHA.. my god. i had them well organized on my computer.wow you were just like i was in 7th and 8th grade. i fucking lost all those pictures when my computer crashed a few months ago, i lost over 2000 green day avas and pictures. i just quit after that. now it's more of like, they're here so i listen to them. i know the songs, and i can relate to a good amount of them. i like the vocals and i like their changing styles, so i get used to it, and then when no other band really sounds like them and i reject it. i have a problem.
Hermione Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 then i'm obese Me too. No need to be sad about it. If you wanna listen to lots of Green Day, do it! It doesn't matter, it's not a competition to try to listen to as much different music as possible. Just listen to what you feel like listening to - if that happens to be all Green Day, so be it. I don't think it's something to worry about.
Guest laurarols Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 hahaha omggg yes.. my other computer eventually crashed oh well....but now i'm just w.e about them..dont really listen to them as much.. i just want the new music to come out so i can start out obsessing over them again like i used to.
Ila Reto Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 yea i know. I mean, i do have other albums...pfft, FOB MCR and GC and LP. i listened to them maybe twice. Daft Punk, my friend said since i like The Network that i should get into them. im thinking of giving them a shot. i like synthesizers anyway on the topic, i guess it's safe to say im always going to like green day. as i get older of course i'll have to devote my efforts and time to other things, but they'll always be with me. i'll probably still be falling asleep to american idiot like i always have when im in my 20's and 30's.
Hermione Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Yeah my brother likes Daft Punk, definitlely good if you want synthesizers. I love to hear as much music as possible. But don't feel you have to force yourself to. Whether you listen to a big or small selection of music isn't gonna affect you as a person, just do what you feel like doing. And I must say, when I was your age I had AWFUL taste in music. I think you're doing pretty well.
