suicidexmakeover Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I'm sure there has been a thread for drugs and what you think of Green Day taking drugs but I guess this is a differen ttopic.My views are it doesn't matter, I don't see how it can make you less of a green day fan just ebcause you haven't experieced every situation they sing about. Yeah it's nice to relate to a song sometime but i think it helps you to understand rather than making it feel like you cant listen to it because you haven't been there.

IliveforBillie Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I think the gd guys still smoke a few joints and they definitley drink...i heard billie say that they have at least 1 beer before each show. being a rock star, obviously goes hand in hand with drugs. Mike said he stopped doing drugs because "speed agreed with him way too well". Its also obvious they did a lot of drugs in the dookie/insomniac era, theres quite a few concerts *cough*jaded in chicago*cough* where billie was high or drunk, he also supposedly filmed the video for jaded when he was high because he wanted to get the feel for the song.I think i heard the reason for the drugs and "darkness" in insomniac was because billie was depressed from all the sucess and fame of dookie (being called a sellout probably didn't help) and he needed a release. i guess he took meth, speed, drank and smoked. that can't be healthy

Then to be a rock star on top of it. They were in the spot light during that time in their life, and they didn't self destruct. I think that in itself is amazing. My thoughts from what I have read now, is they get drunk every now and then.
