belficat Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Guess I was being foolish but I kind of hoped that the voters wouldn't be biased idiots this time. Don't mean to sound like a parrot but, how can you compare them?
The Tourist Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Green Day is actually doing better in the poll. Are you guys serious? Really? Don't get me wrong I love Green Day but they simply can't stand next to the Beatles. No way.
celeryeater Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I like Green Day way better. At least they don't sing about strawberries.
Guest n1i0m3r9od Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Lyrically, the Beatles are amazing.Their music isn't all that complex, however.Same goes with Green Day.
presidentgasman Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Has anyone ever thought that The Beatles were trained musicians? Because they are. Green Day were just high school dropouts who just happened to play in a band.
nicoleah Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I like Green Day way better. At least they don't sing about strawberries. But they do, however, sing about cats being caught in dryers.Has anyone ever thought that The Beatles were trained musicians? Because they are. Green Day were just high school dropouts who just happened to play in a band.I'd think it'd be more of an accomplishment if you teach yourself how to play an instrument and are good at it.
Dai. Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 i don't understand how you people can compare green day with the beatles...
annie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Holy shit, Green Day's winning on a Green Day forum. Shocking. The Beatles are great, I'm not gonna deny that. But its just not my style.
presidentgasman Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I'd think it'd be more of an accomplishment if you teach yourself how to play an instrument and are good at it.Billie isn't a great guitarist. He even said that himself, he also said he was more a rhythm guitarist anyway. He got lessons anyway and only partially taught himself. Mike I'm not sure but I know Tre got taught by Larry Livermore(?)
Terrbear Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Billie didn't really get lessons, he just had some guy show him a thing or two like holding it and knocking out a few chords.
presidentgasman Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Billie didn't really get lessons, he just had some guy show him a thing or two like holding it and knocking out a few chords. That's more than I'm getting right now...
Terrbear Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 That's more than I'm getting right now...Well, I see. When I think of lessons, I think of all those scales and big bucks, and scary stuff like that
presidentgasman Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Well, I see. When I think of lessons, I think of all those scales and big bucks, and scary stuff like that :ph34r:He probably got some help from his Dad before he died as well.
vintagesuitandtie888 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 hmm.lets see.it doesnt matter who you vs. them against.this is a green day forum..therefore green day is going to get the most votes...
Keith Moon Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 This is the stupidest fucking thread ever. Green Dat isn't even one of the 100 greatest bands ever.
ArmatageShanks39 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 what are you gonna ask next? johnny cash vs metallica?
stablesoulsgonebad Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 could you really compare the two? I really think that there isnt enough similarity to actually pick one over the other.
TotalBasketCase13 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 You can't really compare the two, but my vote went to Green Day, because, well, I like them more.
basketcase of suburbia Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 The beatles are very overrated (in my opinnion), and most people that say the beatles are the best, just say that because other people say it. In my opinion the beatles were good but nothing really special, their music after they separated was way better than when they were together.
Green Day Freak 1 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm GREEN DAYDAH
_lewis_ Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 no band is 'better' than another, apart from musically, but even that is mostly opinion . . . you can't scientifically prove one band is better than the otherwhat if trhe band has more talent. more fanbase and more awards, (grammys or w/e) then oyu could say that one band is better than the other
