No... Why should they? They speak as they want and don't care what other thing about that.

Why should they unless they want to?

It's the parents' responsibility to keep their kids from buying that kind of music if they don't want their kids listening to it...hence the "parental advisory" sticker.

And as Billie says, "I'm not gonna say anything inspirational--I'm just gonna fucking swear a lot." :)

Nope, they can say what they want, if people don't like it no one is forcing them to listen. Besides Green Day's music -new and old stuff- is tame compared to some bands.

Anyone who would offended by them must be really prude.

Most definitely not, they iz PuNk!!!!

I don't really care if they swear or not. I think it's kind of a part of their ~image.

It does have a parental warning sticker on most the albums so why buy it if you don't want there to be swearing

So it's 2006 bumpfest day, huh?

Something like a return to the good old times maybe :P

Yes

No. If they think it adds something to the lyrics/conversation, they should do it. They're being themselves, that's great, and no need to change that.

What is actually going on with this thread bumping? Lol.

I remember that feeling

"Is it freeing to be rid of it?" he asked, jealously.

I thought it was a new thread and went like 'omg Pan's back!".

but no. :(

no, its what they do and its part of them, there would be something wrong if they didnt and anyone who has a problem should fuck off :pinch:

i mean "im not fucking around..." what should they say instead... "im not messing around?" thats just gay and they wont be taken srsly

plus, theyre stuff aint that bad, like its not really explicit

I think they don't swear enough.

In a way

I just got a slightly bigger giggle at the fact that some of the people who used to necro threads for lols are mods these days.

No. Billie Joe doesn't swear in his songs just to swear, I believe he does to help convey certain emotions in his music, such as angst. You should really be directing this question to most of the rappers today who curse in their songs every other word just to sound cool or "badass" which they don't. It just sounds like garbage. Also, there are parental advisory stickers on Green Day albums so it's really the parents fault if he/she buys the CD for their child and has a problem with swearing.

It's weird and wrong.

And somehow karmic.

My thoughts exactly.

And as for the burning topic of GD limiting their swearing, who gives a fuck about that stuff anymore?

Swearing has become so commonplace that it's hardly shocking these days, is it.

I dont think they should limit it. But well I dont care, I love them and I wiill always love them

Posted

No. Don't like it, don't buy it.

swears are sometimes the only words to express yourself in stressful situations and to release your anger. why should they limit it? cos people don't like it? well fuck them

If they stopped to swear, I would have been worried.
