I_SAW_TRE_COOL_LIVE Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 Ok, let me be brief - lol! I respect their privacy, like I would anyone else's; I hate it particularly when people talk about their families, wives and children of celebrities have a rough ride anyway, coping with all the repercussions of it, without the added notion of people's unwarranted attention. I agree with Andres that whatever they do publically, and as a band, is part of showbusiness and up for grabs- publicity is part of their jobs, and they're actually participating when they do it. People shouldn't want or need more than that, but they do and they will, because it's part and parcel of fame, and it always has been. But I think that here in GDC, we at least have the power over what goes on in our own community, and that we should act with respect; I know people will say 'they never read anything we post' - that's irrelevant. It's only partly about them, it's also about us.Oh...i get what u mean now, uh wouldn't it be easer if u said "I agree with Andres??" LOL You've got a good point!
Billie... Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I don't care about their privacy as long as they play good music I can't get my mind to figure out why some people get obsessed with others life...Don't they have their own? Green Day have a job that needs people to like them. But it's still a job When I tell people that I wanna live from music they're just like: "oh, you wanna be famous and have a lot of money", but I only wanna play music because I love it. If living from music means that I have to become famous, so be it. And if I get that far, I'm still a person...right?
Tre Cool's Dominatrix Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I can honestly say that if i saw billie joe in the street with his wife and kids i would think ok he is with his family and just think hey i just saw billie joe thats cool. and walk straight by him and respect his privacy. But if it looked like it was a alright moment i would say hi or something. I really like your sig, did you make it or did someone make it for ya.oh um my friend gave it to me and i thought it was good so i like used it haha im not sure who's original it is sorry bye <3ciara ex oh ex oh

BeatlesGreenDay Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 yeah i agree i think they need there privaticy, there just human! I think its hard for them to go shopping or something like that and than there come some girls or wathever for autographs or stuff.but as much i respect there privacy i like those pictures they werent made on stage or in studio. It shows a little about there 'other' life
$*nothing*comes*to*mind*$ Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I can see why they need there privacy and stuff because they are still human beings, but they are bound to get hasseled (its part of the job description)
paranoid_asian Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 thts wht u get for being famous they hve to live with it u cant change the world
king of the 40 thieves Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 after all billie, mike, tre they're just people and they need there privacy just as much as the next person and i think every one should respect that but then again as others have said it's part of the job discription, you cant really have fame without obsesive fans.
greenday rocks!!! Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I do care about their privacy I am not someone who will be yelling that I wanna marrie billie joe or something like that I think that would be really stupid .The media wants to talk to them constantly they need some space too , to be with their own family .
Mechanical Man Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 obviously he was fakeing it, and i think gd does need there privacy but still, we fans can still want 2 marry him, and worship, i bet 80 doesn't care if people want to marry him cuz she has him all to herself
Guest Quietus Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I think it's okay to want to know a bit about the band, like if they have a family and stuff (because they talk about it a bit in interviews anyway, so they seem okay with people knowing stuff like that), which is what GDA's biography page is for, but when you go into the whole, "is he bi?", "do you have his e-mail?", "can you send this letter to him?", "I think 80 should die", that goes way over the line. If they wanted fans to be able to contact them, they would put up their personal e-mail address on the official site. All I can say is if you're desperate for their e-mail, at that point, you're just fucking wierd. I mean, I love Green Day, but I would never send them an e-mail, even if I knew their address, gushing over them. Why do that when they know their fans love them? Plus, I doubt they really would ever respond. If you sent them an e-mail and thought they would respond...I really don't know what to say.I feel bad for them. There was that German tabloid about how Billie treats 80 badly. I just want to say, leave them the fuck alone. For god's sake, they were on vacation.
Yvonne Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Give those boys some privacy. You don't like it either when thousands of people are screaming and acting weird around you. Yes, it is fun in the beginning but at some point you need your rest and space. Their music is just their work. They have their own private lives too. Just like anyone else.
cellophaneice Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Sometimes I feel really bad for the families of famous people because when it comes to doing normal things together they can't. They can't take their kids out to a them park or the zoo because people aren't going to leave them alone.
Farangis Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I think nobody likes it when your taking the garbage out in the morning people run at you at take pictures..and stuff like tha..So everybdoy needs privacy
I Write Tragedies Not Sins Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Everyone needs their privacy , but i suppose not getting any comes with being famous doesnt it?
draw_back Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Sure! they need their privacy! certanly mike in that scene was only jocking (maybe they didn't play that scene if it was crying for real) I concord with all of you: they have their lives! we have to respect their families and their privacy. i hate those fans who scream: "Billie Joe marrie me" or the worst: "Kill Adrienne" oh! come on!!! :verymad: you can't be bj's whife! don't be so stupid! you have to respect them for the emotions who gives you green day's music!
catpacket Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 i missed that part. i dont remember it, at all....same here
Sherri Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I think that they definitely deserve privacy, and yes... people do tend to take it too far sometimes. Most of the time that's just the teenies, the ones who only want to meet them because they find the band members attractive. Like someone said earlier, it's hard to think of them as being 'real' people because they're like heroes to us.. I thought about that once, and when I realized that these aren't just people out there who I idolize so much, they really exist and they have thoughts and feelings on things too. It's hard to sometimes, just take a step back and think about it. I mean it's great that thousands of people look up to them, but they deserve some alone time out of the public eye every once in a while.
Brain Stew Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Ofcourse I don't care about their privacy. I love spending my nights under their bedroom window dreaming that someday I'll be the one sleeping next to them.
green_day_rule Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 every 1 needs some privacy i mean how would you like it it you were been chased by loads of fans all the time i bet you would feel like shouting fuck off to every 1 i know after a while i woul get sick of it i mean after all celebs are people they should be treated fairly
vessy Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 of course they need privacy, but it comes with the job. and i don't think theyhave it so hard like some other celebritys, like britney who is constantly followed by the paparazis. and the little teenes come with the fame as well, and i think the bands get used to it after some time.
celeryeater Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I would feel stupid and pathetic yelling " I want your babies" at them. I mean, they're cool and their music rocks and I think they're goodlooking, but they need their privacy and honestly I wouldn't want to know everything about them. I respect people's privacy and just because their good musicians is no reason to violate it.I hope Mike was faking crying, if not- thats so sad
CaesarSalad Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 What the heck. Of course I care. Which is why I get creeped out with people who need to know every aspect of there lives from food preference to penis size.
...staples? Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 yea they need privacy...who doesnt? well about going places and getting harrassed....just take a shotgun and people tend to get the hell out of dodge.....but thats just me
RAGEandLOVEx3 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 okay the people who ask them to marry them are complete idiots. come on. there fucking teenies for gods sakes.
