x.XAdelineX.x Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 coming clean, american idiot, and wake me up when september ends. a few weeks ago i felt that way bout holiday but im over it
ArmatageShanks39 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 the video seriously fucked it up. it has nothing to do with the war in iraq. what was the dipshit who made it thinking exactly? i mean, everyone said that 'it was sooooo sweet!' yeah, sweet my ass.yes, wake me up when septeber ends was a pathetic corny song to begin with, then theyve got a video of 2 kids telling how much they love eachother, making me wanna barf for 7 minutes, and then show iraq....and its about his dad. that song really killed their entire american-idiot run. theyll forever be remembered as the guys who did wake me up when september ends.
HelloStarshine_ Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 It didn't seem to affect me. Maybe you guys think that because a 10 year old can sing along to a song, people get sick of it? Sure it was butchered, but ignorance is bliss.Look, I was on www.allmusic.com and I listened to the clip of the song. The fucking kill it with computer-made music and a j-pop guy singing the lyrics. It's hell for 30 seconds.

That made my day! God, people are stupid.
Jannan Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I'm in a Kidz Bop group on MySpace. It's actually about us hating Kidz Bop.Usually, we just talk about a lot of random things in there, though.
woven_basketcase Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Nothing really lost meaning for me... some songs just didn't have the same purpose. My interpitations have changed (some make no sense. Like I can relate Boulevard of Broken dreams to masturbation)xDi can see where it comes in.......
what'smyageagain Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 WWUWSE lost its meaning? never thot of that, though. but it's the song that made me fall in love with gd.i listen to holiday and jesus of suburbia at least once a day and i never grew bored of them. well, sometimes i do, like yesterday i didn't listen to JOS.
ILoveTableArt Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I take breaks from albums- like I didn't listen to American Idiot for months- I rotate things around except with my George Harrison stuff and my copy of warning...those are special...then after a while I bring out something I haven't heard in a while and I fall back in love with it. I'm a dork like that..
catskill94 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 after hearing green day being constantly played for over 11 years, all but about 12 green day songs have lost their meaing to me.It's not that I don't like them anymore, it's just overplayed.I'll give it a few years though, and I'm sure it'll feel like new again.
.w.h.a.t.s.e.r.n.a.m.e. Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 well...songs like Paper laterns,JOS,BOBD,give me novacaine, Good Riddance &&many others have never lost any meaning for me..
Blu Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 No, the songs don't lose their meaning for me. Every time I listen to a song I find something new in it or I remember something I found before that was important to me. I listen to the CDs so often people would think I'd get tired of them, but I don't.
milkshake_fiend Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I think almost all the songs on American Idiot lost their meanings for me. After listening to a song 18,000,000,000,000 times in the car and on my iPod and on the radio and on TV, a song sort of loses it's appeal... :/I agree.
..whatsername.. Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 this has happened to me with several songs, mostly off AI. although i really liked it in the begining i think that the JOS music video kinda ruined the song for me. instead of being reminded of times i enjoyed with my friends or things in the song that i can relate to my life, when i hear it i keep replaying the video in my head and it has become really irritating.ive been thinking of cutting myself off from music for an entire week because i know that once i get it back it will mean so much more.
Hybrid Meteora Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 bobd and wmuwse have been way over played and have lost meaning to me i bearly listen to them now
ilooovebilliejoe Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 At one point Minority had lost meaning to me, after listening to it to much... But now i love Minority again... hehe. And I used to really not find anything good with BOBD snd WMUWSE but now I acually like them... odd. I just pretend that kidz bop doesnt exist... or I BURNED ALL THE KIDZ BOP CD'S UP AND THE CREATORS OF IT!!
god Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 well, st jimmy never had a lot of meaning to me, it's just a song that I love, my favourite off the AI album, though i've grown pretty bored of it, along with American Idiot, Holiday, BOBD (I never liked that anyway!)...Wake me up when september ends still sounds quite emotional etc to me though, never listen to the radio, haven't seen the video...
Irizzle Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I've gotten bored of When I Come Around, but otherwise, nope...on the contrary though, I used to not really feel anything when I listened to Wake Me Up When September Ends cuz of the video and how it's way too overplayed but now it makes my eyes water and when I'm alone sometimes I cry when I listen to it.
AAJ Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I dont listen to the radio alot and i only just (like one month ago) became totally obsessed with Green Day so everying still has a really great feeling everytime i listen to it. Sadly though i have only the American Idiot cd so im kinda only able to listen to songs on that cd and i have to take the time to download songs onto my computer (im not a fan who only likes AI and thinks BJ is hot..which truly he is) but covienatlly my friend left her Dookie CD over and i have "forgotten" to return it yet he heI've gotten bored of When I Come Around, but otherwise, nope...on the contrary though, I used to not really feel anything when I listened to Wake Me Up When September Ends cuz of the video and how it's way too overplayed but now it makes my eyes water and when I'm alone sometimes I cry when I listen to it.yeah same i used to get sick of the video but when i looked up the meaning and seeing Billie Joe looking like he is going to cry in Bullet in a Bible got me all into it, like i was once listening to it and thinkg about what ifs and stuff and i was just a "bit" misty eyed!
angels broken dreams Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 No. There are two that I will hold dear to me until the day I die. Paper Lanterns because that was the last song we ever danced to. Wake Me Up when September Ends because it helped me to find myself by helping me to cry for the first time in a long time. I to this day can still sit here and listen to it over and over again and cry, just not as long as I did the first time I heard it. Life was so much easier when I just didn't care anymore but I would not change the pain for anything. I am glad to be me again.
GreenDay-Idiot Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 There are many songs that means a lot to me....some of them it's because I've heard when something happens at the moment and whenever I hear them I remember those unforgetable (sp?) moments
angels broken dreams Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 There are many songs that means a lot to me....some of them it's because I've heard when something happens at the moment and whenever I hear them I remember those unforgetable (sp?) moments that is when songs hit you and leave the deepest mark. There are those few precious moments that should never be forgotten. Most everything in my life that I cared about can in some way be connected with music in some way or another. The worst song for me anymore the one I can not bear to hear is Amazing Grace. Itis tied to the worst moment in my life.
