take me_away Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My older brother llistened to them a lot, and my dad occasionally. I was always hearing them in the house or the car since I was like 8.
rockerbabe443 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My boyfriend at the time, he was obsessed with them, and he made me listen to them, now I"m obsessed.
angels broken dreams Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My best friend at the time. She was in California visiting family and she sent me this album of this cool band she heard playing. I fell in love with the music and have been listning to Green Day ever since. Man thats been a long time and they say I never stick with anything for long.
GreenDay-Idiot Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I got myself to it along with my sister back in 2000....she actually like them first than me but then I joined her! lol
woven_basketcase Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 well, i hate to brag about it, but Mr. Billie Joe Armstrong walked up to my front door himself and told me about this band called 'Green Day'.......
Green Day Freak 1 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 well iguess it started wif simple plan who got me into good charlotte who got me into green day i now h8 simple plan but still like GC but not as much as Green Day
Jannan Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My brother always used to say how much he loved 'American Idiot' and stuff like that. So, I started listening to a lot of Green Day's newer stuff. Also, my other brother was a pretty big Green Day fan when he was younger. He told me about how he used to love 'Dookie', and some other old Green Day songs. So, yeah, I guess they both kind of got me into them.

Liquid-Dookie Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 a bird told me about green day. i fell in love
sick Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My brother listened to them in 90's, and i heard them in 90's but i didn't really care about them, i was young, i liked Spice Girls more. Then i realised that 'that nice song i heard many years ago was from the same band' AHA! I had heard random songs by them, but it took time to realise that it was the same band behind all those songs. Actually i heard Basket Case quite early, then i liked good riddance 1998, but it was 2000 minority when i finally realised, caboom.
relic Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 haha i used to like spice girls. i remember when i was little this girl who was 3 years older than me would come to our house (family friend) and she and i would do the dance to 'stop right now'. i also remember her telling me a frightful story about little red bugs in the seed pods of a tree outside our house, and if you slept with your mouth open, they would crawl inside and eat you from the inside out. needless to say, i avoided that tree. and sleeping with my mouth open.
justcause Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I was a passenger in a car on a very particular day of my life, in a very particular state of mind. It was summer, and I was going somewhere I didn't want to go. I heard 'Basket Case'; at first, I thought it was funny, but then I started to listen to the words, and I thought 'holy fuck!'. I'd never heard anything so dark, wrapped in a piece of day-glo punk, and that insistent vocal for the very first time grabbing my attention. I'd never even heard of Green Day, but they do say, when the pupil is ready, the master appears! Without a doubt, they've gone on to be the biggest influence on my life and work.
goodday Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 wow, that was a long time ago hehe...i can't remember, i listened on a friend's house i guess...
Billie... Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 My first consert actually I went to a consert with Green Day without knowing exactly who they were and after one song I was a Green Day fan. I have to admit that my first album was American Idiot, but I got the whole collection within three days...there went the holiday money
yorin Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 my art teacher, he made me a cd with all these 90's songs, like..red hot chili peppers, smashing pumpkins, pear jam etc. cuz he thought i'd like it, so yea, he also put Basket Case on it, i loved it, bought Dookie, loved Dookie. i think that was end 2002 or 2003 or something.
