What/Who got you into Green Day?

Way back in late 1994/early 1995, I heard Longview on the radio, and I liked it, so my Dad bought me a cassette tape of Dookie.

Wore that out, and then when I found out they had another album coming out, I got that one too.

So I sorta just grew up listening to them I guess.

When I was about 15ish my cousin owned Dookie and I heard the song Having A Blast...that day he recorded it onto a tape for me and I listened to the whole thing. I eventually bought the CD and that's the first time I heard All By Myself...he stopped recording it at the end of FOD. BAstard.

Well i liked American Idiot and after that brought a couple more of their albums. Sort of wasn't that much of a big fan of them and the BIAB came out. I loved it and thought they seemed great live. Since then they have been my favourite band.

I was about 8 years old, my sister would always blast any song she heard from dookie whenever it was on the radio. The videos would always come on mtv and it was just something I grew up hearing. Around age 16, after my pop obsession ceased, my friend got me into rock music. GD and Blink182 were what I first loved. Then,I later got other cd's. And claimed Tre to be my husband

Around A.I. is when my obsession came full circle.

I was about three when Dookie came out, so it wasn't until 2001, when I heard Warning and Dookie at a friend's house. Her brother, who was much older, liked them so he played their albums a lot and I finally asked what band he was listening to and he said, "Green Day"! I then demanded my mother take me to get their albums and I got them all (plus other bands my friend's bro recommended). Now that I think of it, he really got me into punk and well, good music.

well i was like 4-6 when Nimrod came out and i was OBBESSED with Time Of your Life but never knew who sang it. then when american idiot came out my brother bought the cd. he listened to it all the time, and i started to love green day. then one day he was listening to Time of your life and i asked him who sang it and he sed the same band as amrican idiot and JOS(green day obviously) and i freaked out and my mom bought me nimrod , dookie, and american idiot. so i guess my brother got me into them.

when i was driving in the car i was listeing to the radio an the song blvd of broken dreams came on and i was like ooo i like this song and i wondered who it was buy and the station said green day so i ask my mom to pull into the next store tht sold cds and so we went into to zellers and i found the american idiot cd bought it and liked green day every siince

then later on my friend amy introduced me to some of there older stuff on dookie and nimrod and i totally fell in love with it and now im like green days number 1

On Christmas Eve a year ago I was listening to Wake Me Up When September Ends on the radio, and I had no idea who made the song, (for the past year or so I'd been saying I hate Green Day because I was anti-everything everyone else in the world likes) then the radio dj said the song was by Green Day and at first I was sad, cause I liked the song, but got over it, and a few months later just put a bunch of Green Day songs on my MP3 and have been a fan since.
