What/Who got you into Green Day?

my dad got me into Green Day.....he told me to get an "American Idiot" album by this band named Green Day. i was like ok....eventually i got hooked, and now i have most of the albums...... GD is the best band in the WORLD!!! well top 5 at least....ha ha ............

hearing the song Brain Stew got me into them back in 98 and

Nimrod was the first album I bought but my fav will always

be the album Warning and I love Billie Joe's

guitars, the copies of "Blue" the Strat he uses.

I heard Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) on the radio when I was about 9 and then I bought Nimrod and was hooked ever since.

i think i said this before, but whatever...

i saw them live at the pop disaster tour in 2002. i had gone for blink 182, but when green day played i discovered that i had heard and liked al ot of their songs before and not known it was them. i bought international superhits maybe a month later, and then bought all the rest with my "suvenior money" when i went to florida in the spring (i had seen them in the summer). they were actually my favorite band for quite a while.

It was a Friday night, around 11:30 PM, when I was watching some Music channel, when some Green Day video came on. I don't remember which was my first video, but I do know it was one of the older ones.

I got my self into Green Day.

Looong story, but I'll try to be brief. Always "knew" of Green Day... and liked, but just what I heard on the radio, which started to "catagorize" itself around the time Green Day got popular. Got stuck in jobs listening to someone else's shit radio stations for awhile.

My best friend that I met online used to send me cd's (we'd swap music on Sunday's). He got AI by mistake in an order, decided not to send it back & sent it to me.

Been completely obsessed ever since!

I used to loooove Good Riddance when it was popular but that was it. My dad has always been a Green Day fan and when American Idiot came out he got it the first day and listened to it in the car all the time and forced me to listen to it. I'll never forget the first time I heard Jesus of Suburbia I was amazed.

YES, i was one of those people, freaking deal with it. i hate when people say you cant be a fucking "real" fan because "ohhh, you found out about them when they got FAMOUS, well i found out about them when they started, you're a POSER", srew you.

i mean, i had memorized basket case because of all the airtime on the radio by the time i was twelve, but it was always like "HEY! that one song is on again!! turn it up!" i never realized it was GREEN DAY until AI came out. and AI wasnt the first CD i bought. AI came out and i got my friend to burn all the GD she had and give it to me XD
