What/Who got you into Green Day?

my dad kind of got me into Green Day. i was online once and i saw the band name, "Green Day" and i never heard of that band before. then one day in the car i asked my dad if he ever heard of them, turns out he had pretty much all of their CD's. so, i started listening to them, and here i am now. haha, thanks dad :wink:

My dad bought Dookie when it came out, so i sorta grew up listening to them. He later bought me Insomniac and Nimrod, then, because i really loved them, gave me his dookie cd. My dad has gotten me into a lot of the music I like now. Thank god for him.

your dad actually gave you his Dookie cd? i had to pretty much hide all of my dad's cds from him. he can never listen to Green Day now, because i took all of the cds

me did lol but yep, i kinda just heard it around about a year after AI came out then i was begging my mother to let me get it but she wouldnt let me >_> so eventually i had to have my friend give it to me for my birthday(she dosent like them much though shes a shryal crow/jessica simpson/jewel/nsync kinda person >_> blech)

well it was a long time ago but me friends zack wes and jeremy were litenin to them i had already herd of them frum school but i always litened to country so i thought i wouldnt like them but then i started litenin to them wit zack wes and jeremy then i sorta became obsessed i bought almost all of their cds (still need two it sux ohh well lol) well i think thats how i found out about green day lol

i saw the video "holiday" on mtv latinoamerica but it was in always in the 8th place in "The 10 + Requested"

then i saw BOBD and American Idiot and when WMUWSE was on mtv, i was already a big fan

well my friend lori told me she found some really hot punk guys on the cpu so i went and looked and noticed it said Green DAy above them and then i heard some of their songs on the radio and really loved them and decided to look into Green Day.and now ive heard all their songs and have almost all their CDs! thank you lori!

I have a strange feeling that i have already posted on this thread but i can't remember, so what the hell

Micheal Moore. Sept 04, I had just watched Bowling for Colimbine on Showtime and was channel surfing and came to Channel V and American Idiot came on. I thought, that is the perfect song to go with that movie and i watched the whole thing (the clip i mean) then reminded myself to watch for their next single (BOBD) fell in love with i too and bought the album. I listened to AI religously for ages. I was watching channel v again in march just after they had come to Aust. and they had a special on Green Day. I watched it all and heard Good Riddance and remembered it from my childyhood (you know you have those songs that you listened to on the radio whaen you were a little kid) i was blown away that that was a green day song, i vowed i would get the rest of their albums. Then I found GDA when i was looking for their older albums, i got the names of all of them and scabed money off people until i bought them all. And, yeah that is my story, but if you want to go even further back you could say my mum who exposed me to real rock music and gave me the appreciation of that really rock music i have today. Without that i might have ended up liking awful gangsta rap or something equally horrific!!

Thank god for those 10 hour car trips with my mother blasting Queen, the betles and the rolling stones!! they made me who i am today!

I got into Green Day when my friend played me Basket Case just after Shenanigans came out. I didn't think much of them, i listened to a few songfs, thought better as they went along then before i knew it i was obsessesed. It was let me think...september 4th 2003. hehe. I seroulsly liked them when is saw Boulevard of Broken Dreams that set it for me.

i as sitting home one day watching t.v and i was flicking through the channals and i saw woodstock 94 so i watche it and one little band was on, and you guesed it. it was green day. on that magical day i beame a green day fan. not because someother kid liked it or whatever i got into green dat because I LIKE IT!
