queen_for_a_day05 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 No I don't have any connections unfortunatley Maybe 1 day when I become a famous events manager and I will organise Green Day concerts lol
Holly Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 No I don't have any connections unfortunatley <img src="http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Maybe 1 day when I become a famous events manager and I will organise Green Day concerts lol Haha, this hasn't been posted in since 2007.. But there was no need to make a thread if this is here. Anyway, not a personal connection but pretty cool all the same: Today I went shopping to Lincoln (England) and went into a little shop which sold a bit of merch that you can't usually find anywhere else and just cool little bits and pieces and I found a bunch of Green Day badges and two patches, anyway thats not the story Because it was just a little shop there was only me and the shopkeeper in there so we ended up chatting about Green Day for a bit and then he said that back in the early 90s when Green Day were signed to Lookout he used to be their UK distributor! I was like that's so damn cool!! This was before they were really famous so they were just trying to promote themselves in England and that was his job. Next time I go I'll go find out if he has any good stories.
alaniluau Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Good thread. My father knows a guy who gave Tre drum lessons. I know a few of Tre's neighbors from when he lived up here in Mendo. And a lady I know has a brother who "worked" for one of them (I'm not sure what, specifically). She said if he ever works for them again she'll try to get me an autograph or something.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Nope, unfortunately not. I had some hope when I found out a friend/acquaintance of my mum used to live in San Francisco or somewhere around there, but he'd never heard of Green Day. (or at least, nothing with when they were still small of something. I haven't quite figured how you can't know Green Day if you lived in America around the time of Dookie, so yeah)
Sarah.Scumbag Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I was talking to this girl while I was queuing for a meet and greet & apparently her dad knows their management! I was like SERIOUSLY!? I think that's the closest i'll ever come to having any connections though.
Metanoia Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 mmmh....ok i have a really really long chain.... ok so my former neighbours (a family) the woman was ta a german quizshow called "wer wird millionär" (i think its who wants to be a millionaire) well and there she met german host günter jauch and he met thomas gottschalk and he met green day in 2005 so yeah
Tubbie Head Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I was going to say I have no connections.. BUT, my mom met a football player (Figo) who presented an EMA award for GD back in 2005 lool
Juliette Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 mmmh....ok i have a really really long chain.... ok so my former neighbours (a family) the woman was ta a german quizshow called "wer wird millionär" (i think its who wants to be a millionaire) well and there she met german host günter jauch and he met thomas gottschalk and he met green day in 2005 so yeah Haha, my mum watches that show to improve her German
Metanoia Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Haha, my mum watches that show to improve her German haha so she maybe even saw my neighbour
Malleus Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Nope, and I don't want any. I like just enjoying their music and stuff, I don't think I could ever sit down and talk with them solely on the basis that they are Green Day. I'd probably be way too nervous anyway, hah. Plus where I live it's "Green what?" so nobody I know would ever have met them or talked to them.
Eeefaa. Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 my friend's dad is an organiser in a Dublin concert arena and his job is to drive the "celebrities" to their hotels in decoy cars... :eyebrow:
Kayfabe Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Well my friend's friend lived in Cali for a while, and she made friend's with Mike's daughter. True. Story. Although they're only penpals now
Anja Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Cool story Hanna My closest connection besides having met them is having Tré on Facebook And Paulina used to have the same piano teacher as Billie Joe when he was a kid. This is a great thread btw. Really cool stories!
heartscollide Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 It's kind of hard to have connections to them when you live in New Zealand... But one of my friends' last name is 'Wright', maybe she is distantly related to Tre?
Isabel Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 my friend's dad is an organiser in a Dublin concert arena and his job is to drive the "celebrities" to their hotels in decoy cars... :eyebrow: And so, a plan falls into our hands. I have absolutely zero connections with the band but I think there is an Armstrong name in my extended family somewhere. Apparently my Granny used to give out about the "Armstrong nose" ??
The Disappearing Boy Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i live on the same planet as them, and thats about as far as it goes!
bass boy Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i give them all my money each time i go shopping. and i live on the same continent as them.
Green Day Cellist Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 lol well apparently a teacher at my school beat up Billie Joe at a bar. and then another teacher at my school had a drink with Mike so ha! lol
GreenDayisAmazing Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 One of my sisters friends said his dad's girl friends dad used to watch Billie Joe when he was younger and was friends with Andy or somthing like that I don't really remember what she told me, but idk if hes lying. He might be who knows. He said he got to meet Green Day when they came to Arizona.
