lizziebix Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Yes. Obviously my sig means me and Billie are now bff's. /sarcasm Being able to get in touch with them has it's downsides. I'm really careful what I email about, try not to bug too much, and make a point not to talk here about talking to them. It's really easy to annoy fans when they think you're bragging. I.E., When we got into the after-party, and as much as I would have liked to take all my awesome GDC friends with me, I couldn't. I know that upset some of them, and it makes me feel like shit. So it feels like there's two sides of me, the part that wants to be friends with everyone on this forum and everyone who visits GDA, and the part that realizes that a lot of people would be upset thinking of me as their friend but knowing I wouldn't (or couldn't) do favors for them while I get to experience all this cool stuff. So it feels like in order to be able to communicate with the band for the benefit of GDA (and our visitors), I have to be somewhat of a hermit when it comes to making relationships here. Yeah i got a bit off topic, but it felt like it was related somehow. Think of it as a perk of the job. We all have perks; yours are just more meaningful to a lot more people!
Metanoia Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 i've been in the same room as green day. haha me too ^^ well a friend of a friend of a friend of a really good friend of me made billies nose piercing long chain

Izzard Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I tried poking Tre on fb today.....I'm hoping to get a poke back possibly in the next 2 years? Yeah that will be my waiting limit....2 years

Andres: listen up. This is one very smart woman. Abbey said what I tried to write but ended up erasing! oh, and if I have to stay on topic, well too bad because I've got no connections!! But I'm really okay with that.
Mrs. Nobody Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 My dad has a friend in the US who claims to play golf with Billie. Yeah right =P
petros Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I send a friend request to tre but it tells me that this user already has a lot of friends... That kinda suck cause I made a facebook account just to have someday a possibility to say hi to him... Has anyone else tried???
Micky Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I send a friend request to tre but it tells me that this user already has a lot of friends... Ally Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 ok i might be slightly superstitious but the number 7 seems to relate to me ( i like to think of it as a connection of kinds ) mine and billies birthdays are 7 days apart (mine 24th his 17th) my grandad died in september 1989 and if i remember rightly billies dad died in september 1982 (do the maths...7 years) one of my mates from uni was born 4th may 1979, mikes is 4th may 1972 (7 years again) there was another one but i cant think of it right this moment and my fave bit is billie sang "Alison" with Elivis Costello....my proper name is Alison ah oh probably not exactly conections but ah welllllll
ANJI Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Yeah I saw that screencap and I got sooo excited.. I was asking if someone has tried to send him a request recently... I asked my bro to send a request and it gave that same message u had...i didnt know facebook had a friends limit
petros Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I asked my bro to send a request and it gave that same message u had...i didnt know facebook had a friends limit Yeah me neither...Too shame. Thanks for trying though.
lizziebix Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I don't think there is a limit, but maybe you can only get so many friend requests at a time. Tre only has about 3600 friends and I know there are lots of people with lots more. Maybe he just hasn't been around to accept the requests he has.
Psycho Britney Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Andres-I know I don't actually know you, but you sure as hell don't seem like someone who would brag! I mean you keep this site running for us all to share. Like someone said-I personally love to read about other people's experiences, but that's just me!
HaushinkaSins Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 one of my friends dad is a teacher and he taught ramona
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I'm sure a lot of people here "knows somebody, who knows somebody" with a connection to the guys. As everyone has said it's be ridiculous for anybody to expect any favors from those with connections just because you're their friend. By the way I don't think you brag at all Andres, you're pretty humble from what I've seen. You work hard for all the cool stuff you've gotten to experience and you have a genuine respect for the guys, so you really deserve it.
Lauren Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 If the guy who gave out soundcheck passes was a connection, then yeah I do. but he doesn't work for Green Day.
NothingButYourImagination Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 My cousin Natalie works for the Warner Bros. Label & has set up photoshoots & album artwork for them & other artists. She also knows Kevin from FBHT & Prima Donna.
HoneyDo666 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I met the principal of Joey and Jakob's school...in Thailand. It was weird but kind of awesome. He mentioned Billie in the lecture he gave on the program.
finksgirl Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I've met Billie Joe, Mike, Tre (twice), Jason Freese, Jason White, Bill Schnieder and Kevin Preston. and lets just say Jason Freese is the coolest guy on the planet and I'm majorly in his debt. >.>

Moxy Crimefighter Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 wow thats awesome..i wish my teachers had connections like that lol She's a nice lady, I had no Idea about the Billie thing until AGES after I'd met her. She's my favourite Vegan lesbian Feminist
