Tubbie Head Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 my Dad just had dinner last week with Mike's uncle in law. so Brittney's uncle. im so jealous of him. that wouldve been a good friend to make. oh and my cousin went to school with Billie and Mike and i think they knew each other. That's pretty cool!!!

Hopefully, it is just temporarily 'down' like it was recent'ly and that he hasn't deleted it.?. That would be so sad, as even if he hasn't posted in a while, it's nice to have him listed as fb friend. That was about my only 'connection.' I have seen he has posted a hi or a quick comment on someone's wall at least a couple times within the last year. I was hoping someday he might just post a 'hi' on mine (keep dreaming, right). But I guess it's not meant to be. oh well.

Aside from that, I have shaken hands with all 3 members as they were entering and exiting different events--and I gave Tre a bottle of whiskey once which made him happy Wish I could say I knew them or that I hung out with them on a social basis, though

dirnt286 Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I have really close friends in a band from Sacramento who are are close friends with Kevin Preston from Prima Donna who is close friend with Green Day. A friend of mine here in Seattle owns a record store. He grew up in SF and worked at Gilman from the mid-eighties to mid-nineties. He was there are all the Green Day stuff and occasionally hugh out with them and also Jason White.

According to her at the time Billie was a bit of a sexist twat, but otherwise I very nice guy. She has his email address and still keeps in touch. wow thats awesome..i wish my teachers had connections like that lol

Both! And in reality anyone with real connections would never tell. And I wouldn't blame them. Although I'm sure we'd all like to know them better!

PLUS he's met Tre. Those are my only connections.... and I got another one but I'm trying to remember. `

I'm really careful what I email about, try not to bug too much, and make a point not to talk here about talking to them. It's really easy to annoy fans when they think you're bragging. I.E., When we got into the after-party, and as much as I would have liked to take all my awesome GDC friends with me, I couldn't. I know that upset some of them, and it makes me feel like shit. So it feels like there's two sides of me, the part that wants to be friends with everyone on this forum and everyone who visits GDA, and the part that realizes that a lot of people would be upset thinking of me as their friend but knowing I wouldn't (or couldn't) do favors for them while I get to experience all this cool stuff. So it feels like in order to be able to communicate with the band for the benefit of GDA (and our visitors), I have to be somewhat of a hermit when it comes to making relationships here. Yeah i got a bit off topic, but it felt like it was related somehow.
