"I still sleep in a lot of my old GD shirts, though. I don't really represent them as much as I used to, but I love them x10000 more than I did when I was 12."

I feel the exact, exact same way.

I think back to when I was 11/12 years old, and, like - I wore the shirts, I listened to their music, I bought their posters, but - they are so much more important to me now than any piece of merchandise could ever show. Of course, when I was 11/12 I was still learning about them. I don't think I fully appreciated them yet, or had any idea what an impact they would have on my life in the coming years (and the rest of my life ).

Exactly. Although I knew it wasn't a phase, I never thought I'd come to love a band the way I love them now. I suppose it isn't as obvious that I love Green Day as it used to be, but I feel like buying and displaying GD merchandise won't suffice when it comes to explaining how much I love them. Which is part of why I want a Green Day tattoo: it's a way to show that they are a permanent part of my life and they could never be replaced.

^ Me too! My 18th birthday, I'm getting a red star like the one Billie has on his hand on the inside of my wrist.

Again, it won't be real flashy like I LOVE GREEN DAY or anything (haha), but I'll know what it means, which is the most important thing. I can't think of anything in my life that is worth tattooing more than something Green Day related. They mean more to me than I could ever explain. I feel like getting that tattoo will always be a special reminder of how I became the person that I am because of them, which is a person I'm quite proud to be. :D

Not too many tell-tale signs for me, I've never really been all about the "stuff" (shirts, posters, etc.). The two main tell-tale signs would be looking at my music collection and the Green Day pin on my backpack!

And your bright pink hair in the audience every time I look at concert pictures.

What I'm thinking of getting is something from the Dookie booklet, or maybe the 1039 booklet because those albums have meant the most to me in terms of the meaning behind the songs. They've helped me survive adolescence so far, haha. Hopefully I'll be able to get it for my 17th birthday this November. :)

I want one of those stars on my wrist too; however, I think a lot of people in our generation will  but I don't care because it means something to me. I feel like it's the best way for me to display my love for them without saying it outright.

^ I know Billie's star is probably a common Green Day fan tattoo, but I don't really care either. To me the most important thing about a tattoo is that it means something to who it belongs to, and that's the ONLY thing that matters.

At least I'm not getting some tattoo because it's "trendy", like a flower or a heart or something, lol. If other people happen to have my tattoo, that's fine. As long as I know my reasons for getting it were special.

I think it's a great idea to get work done relating to the cds that mean most to you lyrically. That's awesome.

I probably won't be able to decide for a long time, but I'd eventually like to get a line from a Green Day song on my back. I just haven't figured out which line from which song yet.

I chose to go see Green Day instead of having a sweet sixteen birthday party--they were my birthday present :D

I have three shirts, a wristband, a cuff (that I never wear because it's itchy as all fuck), four legit posters, various magazine covers/articles taped up and pictures from a calendar on my wall, the tour book, and all their albums on CD and two on vinyl.

Yeah, I'm in this for life.

I have about 12 Green Day shirts, which is more than half of my entire shirt collection.

I have a Green Day lanyard that I wear to school everyday, I have a 21CB sticker on my ID for school.

I have a Green Day wallet.

I have a clothe type pride bracelet, and I put 6 Green Day buttons on there, so when I'm not wearing a shirt, people still understand that I am classified as a Green Day fan.

I also talk about Green Day a lot, and I can be heard singing numerous Green Day songs throughout the day.

I have 2 Green Day decal stickers on my back window of my car also.

I'm not even going to get into my room right now.....

I forgot to mention that I do have a lot of posters in my room that are like my permanent wallpaper, lol. Eleven total. There's nothing I'd rather see when I first wake up in the morning. I'm going to ask for the new Rolling Stone cover poster for Christmas. I'll have to do some poster rearranging so it will fit though, lol.

When I go to college I'm going to have to get my own apartment instead of a dorm so I have enough wallspace.

That would be the greatest birthday present ever.

Yeah, I've always considered tattoos as something meaningful and I don't see the point in one that is just "pretty" or whatever.

There was one girl I used to see on this forum who got "suicide" and "makeover" on her wrists. I always thought that was such a neat idea, although I don't know what it meant for her. I'd love to get a lyric but as you said, it would be an incredibly difficult decision as to which one I'd choose, haha.

I have around eleven but only two are up right now (one of which is my favorite, the "Los Dios De Verde" one ). In the lull of Green Day news between 2007-08, I got into other music and filled a lot of my wallspace with different posters. I LOVE the new RS cover, though! It's one of my most favorite pictures of them.

almost everything I do reminds me of GD in some way... whether it makes me think of some specific song lyrics, or it reminds me of the members of GD themselves or something they've done. for example: I put something in the microwave today, and I thought of Tre saying "I'm gonna put your microphone in the microwave"...haha. also, GD is the only band I have ever purchased every single studio album of (and more). AND I know more lyrics to their songs than any other band's songs.

also...basically, for a few months now, I swear I've thought about Green Day at least once an hour. even in my sleep - I have GD dreams weekly :D while most girls my age might fantasize about going to a dance with a boy they like or something, I fantasize about meeting GD, and exactly how I might go about doing that. I could go on... I'm obsessed.

- material stuff like CDs, vinyls, posters and shirts

- small references that have been ingrained in my vocabulary like everytime I say goodbye to someone I say "Its been real... and its been fun, but was it all real fun?"

- on the somewhat rare occasion that I talk about them, you can just tell I really love their music -- or so I've been told

- I'd like to think my lifestyle reflects how much of a fan I am because their music and the music they introduced me to has taught me to always stick to my guns and do it my way no matter what everyone else says or thinks

I do think about them all the time. Even if I'm super-busy, they're at least lingering in the back of my mind. I don't know if that's a tell-tale sign of me being a Green Day fan, though, since people can't read my thoughts (at least that I know of :ermm:).

Oh, believe me, it was.

My massive Green Day collection on my iPod (every single album plus a few concerts). The 3 t-shirts that I wear, the posters in my room. And everyone who knows me knows how much I love this band. The majority of my friends are annoyed at my love for Green Day.

I've never felt a love for a band like I do for Green Day before. Their music cheers me up when I'm down, calms me down when I'm angry. And makes my good moods even better. Not many other bands can do that to me.

I wear a Green Day shirt almost every day of my life. My room is a Green Day lair.

Well, my room is full of posters and other Green Day memorabila. I have 6 Green Day tattoos on my body. My computer is filled with Green Day pictures/my wallpaper, and I have GDA/GDC. I have over 100 Green Day shirts/hoodies....I'm always wearing a GD shirt. I have one on right now. Same one I met Tre in. :)

My ipod is filled with Green Day songs, and my iphone only has Green Day/Foxboro songs on it. My wallpaper is Billie holding his guitar from the 21 Guns video.

There's just to much shit to name!

So yeah, I'd say I'm a pretty fucking huge fan.

I have 3 t-shirts, my dorm wall is covered with pictures of them and I'm about to get 2 more big posters (their recent RS cover and the poster that was in Rock Sound), I have 100 GD songs on my iPod + all albums, and I'm on here all the time so I'm all caught up on the latest GD news! I also like looking at photos of them

- I have roughly 400 GD songs on my computer and about 300 videos. (that's NOT counting their side projects mind you)

- The walls of my bedroom are pretty much a GD collage. (sp?)

- My friends told me today that: "If you were ever in a coma, we'd get Mr. Armstrong to whisper in your ear and that would bring you back to life!"

- I have to buy any and every magazine I see with them on the cover (even though I really can't afford to)

Has this forum devolved to the point where we feel the need to rate our fandom to feel superior over one another? A fan's a fan. Regardless of how long you've actually been obsessed or a diehard fan, you're still a fan.

We all have that in common, so lets stop trying to segregate ourselves unintentionally. Instead, lets intentionally segregate ourselves from the teenies, as well as raz the newbies.
