DeJennsitized Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Ha, last week I heard Holiday being played in Homes Under The Hammer (or a programme similar to that; I can't remember.)Then there's that "Jordan And Peter: Stateside" advert, which naturally played American Idiot. And last year we were watching some crappy football montage in Spanish class and American Idiot was played. Sharmellow Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 This one store that you would never imagine them playing Green Day songs. I can't remember which store though, but I remember thinking, "Wow, this is a first." Quote
82 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I heard "Know Your Enemy" playing out the theme park speakers whilst waiting in line for a huge, shit scary roller coaster at Thorpe park. Quote
Starred Thoughts Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I heard BOBD in Claire's, a store whose demographic are tweens with identity crisis. I only go there for earrings on occasion. I wanted to gag Quote
iheartgreenday.havasu Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I've heard Basket Case playing at curves . Quote

Hermione Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I heard BOBD in Claire's, a store whose demographic are tweens with identity crisis. I only go there for earrings on occasion. I wanted to gag Claire's once sold rather stylish pink Green Day make-up bags Quote
Presque Beau Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Today topped my list... I was walking into my Grandmothers church to help set up for a rummage sale and the pastor says "It's too quiet in here" and plugs in his iPod, pressing play. Warning started playing, and I was a bit startled, but assumed that he'd put it on shuffle. Three minutes and forty two seconds later I literally fell off my stepladder when Blood, Sex and Booze started playing. In my grandmothers church. From the pastors iPod. We listened to Green Day for the next two hours as we set up. Quote
Valkin Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 My friend was into Hayyp Hardcore and all this techno crap and really denounced Green Day and all rock bands at the time so i used to constantly tell him to watch basket case but he dident. One day he was watching TMF and it came on and afterwards he was like "OMFG I LOVE GREEN DAY THEY'RE AMAZING" and now he just loves rock, punk etc ect and nothing else lol Quote
forget_me_nots Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Claire's once sold rather stylish pink Green Day make-up bags Ooh, yeah, and I always check there cuz I used to get my Green Day notebooks there and I wish they'd bring them back!!! Quote
Tiffx Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Was outside the movies because we got there early and KYE was playing on a big screen in between movie previews. Quote
m~dub Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 It was on a radio station and people could vote on which song they liked better. 21 Guns was up against T-Pain, 21 Guns won. Quote
GeekStinkBre@th* Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 During Transformers. 21 Guns is an awesome song, but it seemed abit out of place where they played it in Transformers. Quote
Hermione Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Ooh, yeah, and I always check there cuz I used to get my Green Day notebooks there and I wish they'd bring them back!!! I wish they'd do some Green Day stuff in there again too. I missed it with AI, my sister just happened to find the one last make-up bag they had left after they stopped doing it and bought it for me. I want a 21st Century Breakdown range of random tacky stuff! Quote
fev5 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I was at the dentist earlier in the week and 21 guns came on the radio as my dentist always has the radio on in his room. I normally sing JOS in my head when at the dentist as i know it is very unlikely i will still be in the chair when i get to the end of the song so it takes my mind off it the whole time Quote
Robin105 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I heard 21 Guns in the bowling alley the other day and Know Your Enemy in Best Buy. I was like omg Green Day! Quote
Holly Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I just heard Know Your Enemy on a roller skating programme advert on the CBBC, which is a kids TV channel. Its probably not the weirdest place I've ever heard Green Day, but I still found it a little strange that they are advertising children's roller skating programmes.. Quote
Rbka Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I heard Holiday at my orthodontist's office not too long ago.Oh, and btw, who has a funeral afterparty?Everyone. Its called the wake.On ABC talkback radio - a version of Good Riddance covered by Glen Campbell (country singer) Quote
MusicalDeviant Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I've got a new one.The night I got into Palermo (saturday of last week) I was on the hour-long train ride from the airport to my stop, falling in and out of sleep (I'd been up for 26 hours by this point). One of the children (who could not have been any older than 11) on the train was playing with what appeared to be his cell phone, listening to all of the ringtones. One of the ringtones was Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I found it on mostly because this kid could not have been any older than7 or 8 when that song came out originally. I don't often hear of green day fans that young. Especially not in other countries. Last week, while I was waiting for my espresso to be made (for my breakfast here at the school in Palermo) 21 Guns came on. I hadn't been sleeping well at this point, so I was super tired and agitated. It was a pleasant surprise. This had been the first time 21 Guns on the radio, and it didn't even happen in my own country. Quote
