I have an idea on how we as Green Day fans can do our part to make Green Day's fame everlasting

holy shit i love the idea. ill also donate 100$ =)

i can see by reading all these posts that green day have helped alot. and they have. theyve especially helped me through an awful time in my life. and i thought that i was just gonna die from my depression. but when i heard them on the radio, and then i heard them a little bit more and more after a while, i got into them. and + my brother used to listen to them alot.. so yeah i heard them like 24/7 haha, but when i got there cds and listened to them. they actually gave me a meaning to live in life. they are soo insperational, i dont want to sound cheesey, but i want to be like them, like have there intelligance (idk, i cant explain it). every since ive gotten better (since like 4 years ago, or so..) ive been trying to help others, and helping out, i volonteered at hospitals and places like that for people who suffered like me. i made help groups, and helped people out a lot. i dont want people going through what i did, it was horrible. anyways...

i think that green day deserve this. they need to gain there eternal respect.

and for that person who said why not donate to charity. well i do too. i donate to a hospital names saint jude. there for children of all ages who have down syndrom or any kind of problems. i donate 200$ a month. and im proud to see children get better. i hate the fact to see kids ill. mentally ill.

green day have made me a new improved person. i want to thank them so much. and this probably can be a way.

okay, I'm contacting Andres about this, I was hoping he'd post his thoughts on here, but I'll e-mail him. I really want GDA to get the credit for this, all I want out of this is to see my favorite band get a piece of recognition they deserve (and I ticket to the ceremony when it happens)!

EDIT: I've emailed GDA about this. I really hope they back it. I understand that many here think it's a waste of money. I respect your decisions. I'm just trying to do something I believe is good. I would fill out and submit the nomination myself, but I'd rather see Andres do it. The head of a website with thousands of registered users looks better than one solitary fan.

Well, the first step is getting the nomination approved, the fundraising that comes after would be easy. We'd have 5 years to make $15,000. If they get the nom, I'll put in the first $100, if we get the people at the idiot club in on it, and then all the people on greenday.net, and all the people on here, it should be pretty easy. Plus this kinda stuff gets lots of media attention... I've emailed Andres on the contact us page, hopefully he gets it soon!

Also, like we said earlier on the thread, Warners and Reprise (and maybe Adeline) might put in some money.
