I'm not gonna lie. I just started liking them in November 2005. I saw WMUWSE on VH1 and I loved it. I got AI and Bullet in a Bible on Christmas. And then I got International Superhits! and Dookie a few months ago. I really want to get their other albums but I'm saving up my money so when they have a concert around here I can get really good seats. Stupid, I know.

My 2 friends got me into Green Day. They slept over at my house once and they brought Bullet in a Bible over and I just fucking loved it! My first album was Dookie. I haven't seen them in concert at all (dammit!) but I REALLY want too. :eyebrows:

Green Day is my favorite band.

I have seen them once on October 8th 2005 in Carson, CA. It was my first concert.

I have been a fan since the second Grade, then I kind of got wrapped up in the beginning of growing up, and re-found them two years ago.

My first album was American Idiot, although I would have to say that it is my least favorite or all of their albums.(but it is still one of my favorite albums.)

My friend Jack re-introduced me to Green Day.

okay. well, i've only seen Green Day one time in concert. i started listening to them like, a month before American Idiot came out. American Idiot was the first album that my dad actually bought for me, all of the other Green Day cd's that we had before American Idiot belong to my dad. and my dad was the one that got me into them. waoh, that was a mouthfull :P

i first heard them at a funeral. the guy's favorite songs was boulevard of broken dreams, so they played it. first album..american idiot, then international superhits, then insomniac..im working on getting all of them though. and ive never seen them

I have been listening to green day as a fan for about 4 months. when I was about 4 my brother got dookie. (Im really not 14, i only entered that because saying you are 11 doesnt work.) I wasnt really astounded about it, being a young ADD diagnosed person, and really not paying attention to them at all because to me they seemed like all the other bands he listens to. Well, flash forward 5 years later to when my friend Justin gets AI (I still have no clue how, and have never gotten around to asking.) and tells me how cool it is, and sings some of the songs from it, which starts to annoy me, still having the thought that green day is just some ordinary band that caught Justin's attention. Fast foreward another eleven and a half months, halfway through March, of this year. In the past time Justin has started a rumor that Amir - a good friend of mine - is the brother of Tre cool, but that is a whole nother story. at this time I was surfing newgrounds.com (visit here.) I saw a makeshift video of Holiday, and instantly something clicked in my head. Now I thought that green day wasnt just any ordinary band. They are GREAT! Soon I got AI and BIOB for my birthday, and more recently I got Nimrod. and Insomniac, then discovered GDA (Once again, by Justin), and here I am now, typing my biography on the internet, realizing that I wouldnt have discovered green day without Justin, and waiting for something new and more interesting to happen in my life.

First Song Heard - Minority (It was being performed at Live 8)

First Album Bought - Dookie

Favourite Album - Nimrod

Favourite Member - Mike (But Tre does make me laugh the most)

I was hoping to see them in concert, but my mum wouldn't take me! She just went with her friend. Unfair!

Fan since about 2003 / 2004 I think  but can't really remember, but I heard either Macy's Day Parade or Minority first I cant remember but I heard them both on the radio within the same week or so, and then when I figured it was Green Day I looked on the internet cos I thought the songs I heard were awesome, then I downloaded some stuff from SOSH and I was seriously amazed....I was in love  (with the music :D)

My first album was Warning (I downloaded it so if that counts  ) my first brought album was AI and then I got Dookie and then gradually now I have them all and have moved onto getting stuff like Bowling Bowling Parking Parking :D

Unfourtunately I haven't seen them live :( but as soon as they come to the UK again I'm gonna be there :D

My fave member is Tre Cool - he's a real inspiration for me (I play drums :P ) and what really winds me up is when people dont shut up about their love for Billie Joe etc etd, and the people I talk to always seem to forget about Mike :verymad:

Keep Rocking

Coincidentally, whilst I was having gay sex.

Ha. It was when I saw the American Idiot video, and realised you could somewhat dance to it. Anything you can dance to gets my attention immediately.

I haven't seen them live jet,

but I wait for that day to come.

I've been a fan since 2004,

and the first album I got was American Idiot.

I got it from my brother and sisters for my birthday.

I start to like Green Day to impress this guy I was in love with,

then I realized it was not the guy I was in love with;

it was Green Day.

(sorry for my english, I'm Norwegian)

Well, I thought I could open this thread and see what you have to say about Green Day, how many times you have seen them, and when/where it was and how long you've been a fan or, first album, what got you into them... whatever.

Because otherwise it's just randomly scattered around the forum. I think this thread actually has a good purpouse...

I've never seen them live, they came to Argentina in 1997, but I was 6 years old and didn't know about them...bad luck.

I've been a fan since 2005, I guess the moment I realized I love them was when I first saw the BOBD video. The first song I've ever heard is American Idiot, on t.v. And the first video is American Idiot, too. My first album, again....American Idiot, then I got nimrod, then ISH, then Dookie, then Warning, then Kerplunk and 1.309 SOSH, then Insomniac and then BIAB.

Boulevard Of broken songs got me into them....then I started to listen to their other stuff, and everytime I heard something new I was becoming more fan of them...

i saw them live once and it was magical

i loved them after hearing the song holiday

which was in like 2004/2005, cant remember

i have all their songs but not an actual album unless biab counts

my stepdad has dookie, the one with the sesame street dude moshing on the back

he also has insomniac, but that doesnt really matter

i have an entire wall in my room completely covered in pictures of green day from magazines

i am very proud if it

i have 2 green day t-shirts, and one that says Mrs. Billie Joe Armstrong (my friend got it for me :D )

i love them very much

and i have 14 posters

I saw them live in September...they were amazing! I've heard them on the radio since I was like 4 but I never thought much of becoming a fan or anything just because none of my friends were into rock or punk- anything that has a guitar in it. They all listened to rap and hip hop...since I was 15 I've loved Green Day and now all my friends do too! Anyways back on topic...

my first cd I got by Green Day was international superhits

first green day merchandise was an AI t-shirt in August

first video was Longview when I was about 8 years old

shit i havent seen them live boo hoo

My friend got me into GD the first video i saw was BOBD and that is my favorite song i borrowed my

I’m hoping they could come to North Carolina on their next tour; I pretty much live in a 'rodeo' type of town, very miserable place actually. Anyways the first album I had the pleasure of buying was Dookie, it was just after I had been power struck by the few second of 'Longview' I heard. I goggled the group and went out and bought the Album, when I listened to the first song I knew right there it was love, Dookie had this little fairytale effect for me, it was magical and beautiful- all fourteen enchanting songs of it. It just opened up so many doors soon enough, for my writing, my beliefs, me becoming the minority and fucking questioning what I’ve fallen into, and quickly being pulled out and rescued from this dark place I subconsciously fell into- then I realized my heart was beating again- Billie’s words open my mind, but me on the contrary to false hood, and frankly gave me reason to 'live and let live'. It isn’t a phase, or something you just forget about- it stays with you forever in your mind, and just the way you look at life and carry yourself, it’s beautiful.

I first heard Green Day when they first came out with Dookie...I think it was either Longview or Basket Case...at that time, i was a newlywed and a 1st time mom, so my life was pretty focused on that aspect of my life. Of course, I remember when Good Riddance came out...it was all over the place...awesome song, and still is. I must admit that it was Boulevard of Broken Dreams that woke me up totally to what I'd put aside all those years....thank god man, cause they saved my life. I'm making up for time lost, got every CD they made now, and still kicking myself for all those years without them!!

I've only seen them once, in Hartford CT, 9/9/05, and I'll never forget it. It won't be the last time :)
