ReMoss85 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Yes, they showed him playing it by himself, at his high school I think, in Driven.
Zach Cool Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 i believe thats the file name does anyone have the audio program where you can delete the background parts and just leave the vocals? me...but it really does not do that. it just takes out a certain type of sound...it's weird...sometimes it will take out everything but guitar...sometimes it will just change a certain setting...i won't even bother with this
Chump92 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Call me crazy but i thought it sounded similair to Haushinka.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 mine says its from Kalx 1989?? Check this article out... http://www.geocities.com/marshallstax/bamartcl.html It would be nice if we could ask him which Sweet Children song it was?

Kleptomaniac Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 By the "voice that sounds like a cold" I would say its them. And I hear mike XD "James is our mascott, like a penguin hes just always there."
barneythebilliejoeworshiper Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 No idea. Reminds me of the band Boston. i agree.....i love boston
justcause Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Very sweet, Sweet Children - nice vocal, too. It starts off sounding like 'More Than A Feeling' - not sure who that's by, but before the chorus revs up it goes 'I close my eyes and drift away'. Middle sounds more like - and I never know how to spell this - Lennard Skynnard? I know Billie Joe has said one time that he hated that 'red-neck shit' or somesuch, but didn't they cover 'Sweet Home Alabama' at some point? So maybe they're just riffing off one or both; on the other hand, the formality of the harmonies and structure of the middle are un-Green Day, so maybe it is a cover. Doesn't help that I can't make out a single word!
Whydoyouwanthim Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 DAMN IT!...thats a old song!...i heard it somewhere but i cant think of the damn name...this is gonna bug the shit outta me now dont let it get to you. MAN! I know where thats from too.
mbk Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 It starts off sounding like 'More Than A Feeling' - not sure who that's by, but before the chorus revs up it goes 'I close my eyes and drift away'. That's by Boston. Great minds think alike: i agree.....i love boston Check this article out... http://www.geocities.com/marshallstax/bamartcl.html It would be nice if we could ask him which Sweet Children song it was? Good detective work! That's a pretty solid indication that it's not a cover, but an original.
brain_stew Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 That is a nice song. I just don't know what the hell it's from. It definetly sounds familiar, too...someone better figure it out because I definetly want to know now... me too! it does sound familiar, i may have heard it before on a bootleg cd.

Justin_greenday Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Im the guy that sent it to Andres, i also have 2more unknown songs, but i cant find any of them out either!
Prosthetic Head Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 It is a good song, but i can't understand a word that he is saying.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I emailed the guy(DJ from KALX) from the article I posted on page 2 of this thread, and he emailed me back. This is what he said. Hi... Interesting recording... Sounds like it was made at a party or something in Benecia, judging from the comments at the end of the song... Also sounds like there might have been some dubbing issues along the way between the original tape and the one used here... phase weirdness during the song. According to what I have - I played Sweet Children on 28 November 1988: Don't Leave Me Sweet Children Stay Dry Eyes If I run into anyone who might know about that mystery song I'll play it for them and see if they can help! Marshall Does everyone else know Stay and Dry Eyes? Cause I don't. I know Dry Ice--thats probably just renamed but I dont know Stay. And to the person who sent it to Andres send the other two and I will send to Marshall and see if he can find out.
Varda Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I dunno what the name of the song is, but they also played one of the 2 unknown songs from KALX at Gilman once..I have the recording from that,too.. I thought it are the songs that were meant to be on 39/smooth, but then didn't make it..
