ImNotEmoButFranksHot Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 yup, they got me in2 music loads in general. i wasnt in2 music anyways b4 i liked them. except britney spears, i loved her...
fuefue Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Oh, yeah. And I'm really glad cause I found the type of music I truly like.
billie-joe-geek72 Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Not really. My dad introduced me to rock and metal at a young age so i've always really liked rock music, except the Spice Girls
giant_teabag Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I didn't have a musical taste before I started to listen to green day so no. or yes. or whatever.
Dearlybeloved666* Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 yeah me too. before I discovered Green Day, I didnt really listen to music.
*Jade_Green_Day* Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Green Day opened my eyes ears to loads of new bands who I'd never even heard of. I didn't really listen to much music before Green Day cos there wasn't much I liked around.
Haniik Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Sure, totaly. Before them I listen to lot of crap music. Thanks them a lot for saving me :-D.
Silverlight Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 They totally changed my view and taste on music, before I found Green Day, I listened to all this pop music. I look back now to see what I li8ked and what everyone at school likes now, a bunch of one-hit-wonders with boring annoying songs (not all, but quiet a few are like that)
~Ani~ Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Yes, they introduced me to the wonderful world of rock music
FannyDefoe Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 great thread! green day totally changed my music taste... I was always that kind of hip hop listener, but only because all my friends were those "party people" I mean, I never was that mainstream person..but there was just nothing around... then I startend to listen up what my big brother listened and I heard basket case and I thought "hmm..that's catchy" it took me quite a while to break out of this old circle of friends...for the music like you know...party music was like hollow and it didn't satisfy me. I started listening to green day and could identify with them..it was more personal and I fell in love with them. so they changed my total character and the music I listen too now. I'm listening to more punk rock now...and also classic rock and rock'n'roll... real hand-made music as I call it
Banan Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 totally! I used to wear a t-shirt that said "BRITNEY FAN #1 <3" in fourth grade or something, I was into Green Day at that time too, but they introduced me to a lot of other great bands, like the Misfits, Ramones and stuff, so now I don't like shitty crap at all (:
Ally Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I guess they did, i kind of went gradually from pop to rock and punk I was originally a die hard westlife and boyzone fan til i was 13, then i went off them and was a busted fan until they split, then from then it was green day
Tubbie Head Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Oh yes they did, I used to listen to mtv stuff, when I started listening to music. But then, Working Class Hero came on and everything changed. First got into GD and immediately to the Tubbies, and found out what the real music is.
~Ani~ Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 ... real hand-made music as I call it I like that expression
Billie Kristy Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Yeah, they did actually. I've always loved and listened to Rock/ Metal and I still do. But Green Day introduced me to some awesome Punk bands I had never heard of before, and I listen to those now most of the time. + Green Day makes some amazing music themselve. So I am actually grateful (:
colour_me_stupid_ Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 When I starting getting into Green Day I was also getting into QOTSA, Nirvana, stuff like that. But yeah, they definately helped me realise Girls Aloud suck
terrier93 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 yeah. before i got into green day i used to drift around all sorts of music. but since ive started listening to GD ive discovered a love for the ramones, the sex pistols, the clash and a few other good bands.
Brina93 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Yes, they most definitely did. At 11 years old I was listening to Hilary Duff (I didnt have any musical taste as you can see) and then as soon as I watched Green Day perform on the 2005 VMAs everything changed. I completely forgot about Miss Duff and explored all kinds of rock and roll music, not just punk, though I do listen to that the most I guess. Thank god I turned on the TV that day
Nele Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Oh yes they did, I used to listen to mtv stuff, when I started listening to music. But then, Working Class Hero came on and everything changed. First got into GD and immediately to the Tubbies, and found out what the real music is. Well, back in the Dookie days Green day's video's were played on MTV like crazy and today they are still on there from time to time. So Green Day's MTV stuff too.
Heather! Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Oh of course. Green Day was the first band I really got into, after blink-182, and through them I found punk and alternative music and eventually developed the taste I have today. I don't even know what I listened to before I found Green Day.
