dumbstruck27 Posted January 26, 2006 Author Posted January 26, 2006 Do you see, DO YOU SEE ? THis is why I am drop-dead inlove with this message board. haha That is so true..
sickofme897 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 i see it as they just did that because tehyre in for it because its the "in" thing to do nowadays. and that all same-sex relationships are just there because its "hot" I don't think they were kissing to please other people. They were just being silly. I didn't know that same sex relationships were in either. But I undrestand where you're coming from . My best friend is gay-he agrees with you
Nimrod99 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 there we go, there's the respect that everyone deserves.
zoki Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 woah.....anyway billie joe did wear alot of black in early days. the only thing that is new is the eyeliner and, its a red tie instead of a white one. i really couldnt care less if they had a particular image for the next album or not. with that being said...you guys take things way to seriously. i actually know people who don't like green day because they wear eyeliner, that's fairly moronic.
sickofme897 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 wasnt he wearing eyeliner when they toured england in 1991 or something
zoki Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 well, green day didn't post the pictures, the fans did. and, the guys of green day have been "intimate" publicly for quite sometime ( i take it as a, haha, i can kiss a dude on national television and you cant sort of thing), i dont think it was to prove something or to please anyone. if billie kisses a dude, and he does do it frequently, a fan is most likely to post it, so its not green day's fault.
x EightySix Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 i hate how people say these things ties and stuff-]Billie Joe wore ties before AI..at Woodstock for example eyeliner-correct me if im wrong they LOOKED like they were wearing eyeliner on the interview..i think at thier hometown..were mike was wearng those yellow funny bell-bottoms. xD i dno it looked like they were looks all around-they were always the same..if they didnt change they're hair and style and dye it i bet you people wouldnt even think of that. because thats the only thing thats that different..the shoes too but the shoes are nifty. Personality-People who hate Green Day for they're clothing are idiots. they wear good clothes o.O. and they're personalitys are the same as before. i mean yeah they have matured (sp) a bit..but who fkn cares they're still Green Day and they're still funny as hell. I just hate people who jusge them now by the way the dress. because they pretty muched dressed like that before too. the term "sell outs"-This term is fo fucking retarted. party because there is no such thing as selling out, but they're is a thing called acheving (sp) your dream, which is what Green Day has done. people should be happy for them not put them down. and another thing. if you really want to use the term "sold out" they "sold out" on Dookie. people are idiots and say the did on AI. they were on MTV at Dookie too, just like AI. ugh people can be so stupid sometimes. JDFHUDSIFHUIDSFHuh IM DONE COMPLAINING

*withoutadoubt* Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Wow, what started as a simple question...

Lone Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 their image will change, I'm sure of it.. and yes.. I changed my mind.. *missing the chat*
justcause Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 umm you dont know how that was degrading to me and how i dont like it? okay. well, when i see a picture of two guys making out, i see it as they just did that because tehyre in for it because its the "in" thing to do nowadays. and that all same-sex relationships are just there because its "hot" when really there are feelings involved and kissing and sex isnt the first thing that comes to mind. my boyfriend and i kiss because we love each other and we show it through that way. we dont go out and take pictures and then post it online for everyone to see. i found that degrading because its just like saying same-sex couples are just a form of entertainment for heterosexuals who get turned on by that. and basically saying that im in it for a trend. i dont like it because of that. there. have fun thats as best as i can explain it. I do see what you mean, and thank you for addressing my point, but I still disagree with you. Firstly, Billie and Mike practically brought each other up, they're closer than brothers, whether they've ever been sexually close is their own business, but they do love each other, that's for sure. Billie is an affectionate, tactile guy - he's always kissing and hugging, in many ways he's like a little kid with it. Again, I think it's endearing, and I think if he wants to kiss his friend because he's in some in-the-moment thing onstage, or for any other reason, he's entitled to, and I'm glad he does. I don't think that what other people do has any bearing on your relationship - although I can't think of any couple I know who would have a problem with a picture of a public kiss like that being shown online. I think you're being a little sensitive, and I don't doubt you have your reasons, but if you feel degraded by something as positive as that image, it's in your perception of it, not in the image itself. As regards the more general thing, I think boundaries of sexuality are being blurred, and people are entitled to be turned on by whatever or whoever does it for them. If we become less rigidly confined by definitions of sexuality, surely that brings us closer to a place where we can all be free to be ourselves, whatever that may be? I just don't think sexuality is as simple as straight/gay, I think there are a million tones in between, and I don't think we can be denied the right to explore them.
Nimrod99 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Yeah, I'm missing the chat about now. I think it can be ridiculous how some people get slammed on here. the first day I joined, I was looking for a friend on here and about 20 people jumped down my throat about it. I just tend to find that there are more shit heads on here than in the chat (not pointing to anyone in particular).
sickofme897 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 i'll be your friend Nimrod99 I know its off topic but everyone else is too ha ha
Lone Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 *tries to change back to the topic* *fails.* I just want to end this other discussion.
Nimrod99 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 uh thanks, but I still prefer the chat more.
mbk Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Okay. I'll just delete the argument. It won't really be deleted, it'll be in the trash where mods can still see it.

Lostnfoundtrblbound Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 They are regular people and most people consistently change their looks day to day. While not on tour the guys it seems still wear baggy long shorts and t shirts. I think I might have heard some where that Billie Joe's father wore suits a lot and some how he connects suits and all that with both the fondness of his father and with being professional in the good way. The guys wore suits before American Idiot though in Hitchin a Ride. I think the image change didn't just happen for the fanbase but also because the guys are growing up into actual men. As for the eyeliner I've heard that Billie Joe and Tre both have had their share of cross dressing so the eyeliner could be something they like or what not.
Guest n1i0m3r9od Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 People are never going to be happy. If they were still dressing the way they did back then, and make the same music, people will call them posers, and tell them they need to grow up.
Zach Cool Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 boo hoo...the fight is gone good thing i saved it as a .txt
