Dana. Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 My parents like them. It's really cool but they haven't watched BIAB for a reason.
gmcloughlin Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Have to admit, I don't agree with alot of her taste in music, but my mam does seem to appreciate the sure brilliance that is Green Day's music Well, to a certain extent
kellista Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 My parents like some Green Day songs. My dad likes stuff like Guns N Roses, and the Beastie Boys. My mom like Creed and Breaking Benjamin. They really only listen to music when they go to the gym, so they're kinda current, not bad considering they're in their early forties. I just got my brother to put Green Day on his ipod , even though he says he only likes Dookie, hes puttting american idiot and warning on as well Must be nice haha. I can't say anything about Green Day around my brother without him saying "sellouts"
Malleus Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 My parents do not listen to music. I don't know what they used to listen to, they're way too old to have preferences that they speak about.
kcgrl1124 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 my mom's more of a classical music/soft rock/chinese music/enrique iglesias kind of person. But she doesn't really express disapproval of my GD obsession! GD isn't her taste, but she does like some of GD's softer songs like Good Riddance, Macy's Day Parade, etc.
Burnout98 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 When i played AAF in the morning, my dad was in the room and he doesn't like GD too much, but when he watched their live performances he was blown away.
WestboundSign! Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 My dad always liked Green Day. Since I'm listening to their music all the time, he likes them even more. He thinks that you can't compare Green Day with other bands, just like I do. It's more than music, .. My mum likes them, too. Not too much, but she thinks they're cool. Anyways, my dad listens to the same kind of music, as I do.
drumstick Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 today my mom literally forced my brother to watch AAF with us. and he "hates" Green Day
emikaf Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 My dad is a real music nerd like me, and he listens to everything from jazz to gospel to classic rock to pop. I don't know if he likes Green Day in particular but he'd probably tolerate it. After all, we recently rocked out to George Thorogood in the car haha. My mom is really boring. She basically listens to pop from her childhood.
I'm Lost for Words. Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 My mom likes Green Day...well, at least tolerates them. There are a couple of songs that she likes, but those are the ones everyone knows...she's certainly not as into them as I am. However, she really likes other bands I'm into. We had a discussion about them today in the car. As for my dad...let's just say, he doesn't like Green Day for...several reasons. But he likes other bands that I like, as well, he's just not as musically awesome as my mom is.
minorty13 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 My mom just said that she doesn't think Billie's cute because he's "not enough man" for her Kinda creepy hahaha
Ohh_Mike Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 so this is what i live with...a Cliff Richard fan! nothing is worst, although ma does listen to artist like kim wilde, ricky martin, flock of seagulls, soft cell etc, she cant stand green day or anything else i listen to. dad has always had a love for pink flloyd and fleetwood mac but i dont live with him so im not sure what he listens to these days
Green Day Dookie Dude Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 My Mom likes all kinda of music. She likes most of the bands I like and she thinks they're good (She really likes Green Day) My Dad likes all this other shit and other than that he's not into music. He hasn't said anything but I think he hates Green Day (He gets all pissed off about the swearing but my mom could care less)
Poprocks_and_Coke Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 My dad listens to the doors, I think he doesn´t like Green Day. My mum likes some Green Day songs (like WMUWSE), she listens to the Who, Rolling Stones, Beatles, the Kinks, Eric Clapton and Abba. Since she knows, that Green Day has covered songs from the Who and the Kinks, she likes Green Day even more.
basKTcase1000 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 My mum likes Green Day and she thinks Billie is hot! xD and she likes the Foo Fighters, Guns 'n' roses, Metallica (stuff like that) and my dad likes Green Day too but i think he prefers bands like U2 and the doors!
Melodramatic fool. Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 My ma is listening to like.. Madonna,Abba,Beatles and stuff like that. Much crappy pop from the eighties. My dads music taste is slightly better. He listens to Depeche Mode, old swedish punk and famous rock songs.. Both of them think Green Day is okay.
Daniel King Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 well my mom she doesnt really like green day, only some covers like dancing with myself, like a rolling stone like that, and my dad doesnt like the old green day he goes for the 21st century breakdown because the music sounds so 80's to him, and remembers a lot of bands who have those kind of sounds
Molly Rose x Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 My dad likes 30 seconds to mars, elbow, Florence and the machine, his girlfriend (I don't know what to call her) likes green day. So we can talk bout green day, shes been to some of the concerts I really wanna go to one
talkingcouch Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 My parents doesn't listen to anything. They are seriously a non-musical (like anti music stuff) person. They don't listen to any pop songs. NOTHING. Although, sometimes, when my dad's doing dishes or something, i could hear him humming "Desensitized". I swear it is the song coz when i asked what he was humming, he said he has no clue. Maybe i play too much Green Day around the house that even my anti-music parents started humming their songs. I'm on my way to 'convert' my little brother into listening to Green Day. (They are house music fanatic - i know :/ )
Moyeszet Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Haha when i discoverd Green Day, i asked my parents : Yeah dyou know Green Day? I thank my mother'd knew (she listend to the clash, the cure, the ramones, and all) but not. My father knew American Idiot. He said he liked them. And this days, he's pickin my green day albums in MY room for upload them on his Ipod. He listen them all the time...he loves their solos. HE STOLE my Bullet in a bible! And i all paid with MY money! Dammit.
Charybterix Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 My mom and I have similar music tastes...we pretty much listen to whatever interests us, although we tend to stick to specific genres: I mainly listen to metal, with a bit of Celtic/New Age and a bunch of other random stuff thrown in, while she listens to blues and stuff that would be considered "classic rock." She does like Green Day, though, and a few of the metal bands my friend "converted" me to. I don't like to listen to my mom's favorite music, but I rarely complain, since it's a hell of alot better than the other stuff on the radio these days... As for my dad, he was into the same stuff my mom was into, but I'll never actually know if he liked Green Day (long story).
oscar is a nimrod Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 My dad likes classical rock and does not mind green day. Sometimes he will watch a min or two of a green day show I'm watching when he comes in. My mum is into adele and similar sensations. My sister is into mostly crap like Hannah montanna and taylor swift all tht jazz.
dontleaveme Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 My dad doesn't usually listen to music. Sometimes what is on the radio, little bit of Johnny Cash and he admires Elvis, but that's it. Mum listens definetly more. Queen, Smokie and some finnish bands/artists. I think mum isn't a Green Day fan, she hardly knows the songs what's played on the radio. Still she respects them and what they're doing and I can talk with my mum about Green Day. But I know mum is secretly in love with BJ, she just won't admit it. I took her to a Green Day concert with me. She thought that BJ is 25 yrs old (!), and I was like, No, he's 38. Then she started to make these weird noises and was like "Oh God, I could almost be his wife." And when I showed her some magazine article about BJ & Adie she told me to put it away, cause "I'm getting jealous!"
ThisIsNotNora Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Let's say Vivaldi and Britney Spears are blasting through the speakers..... I don't even...
Sarabeth Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 My mom and I were watching Bullet In A Bible. I was talking about everythig happening before it happened, and my mom said "it's un healthy that you know this movie by heart and you've only seen it three times. You need to do something other than Green Day once in a while" So then her phone rings, and her ringtone is East Jesus Nowhere, and her screensaver is a picture of us at the GD concert. I have her trained well. I remember the day I discovered Green Day, and I went on a rampage listening to all their songs, I tried to show some to er but she just said "I hate Green Day. I remember when they were on MTV all the time, back around the time you were born. I though they were a bunch of no-good punks who were addicted to every drug known to man. I didn't like them then, and I won't like them now." So I forced her to listen to them by turning it all the way up (I showed her some songs on 21CB) and she admitted that they aren't what she thought they were. Although she won't listen to anything before Dookie...
