Parents' Music Interests , do they like Green Day?

my mom likes almost ~everything. She likes a bit of Green Day. She used to listen to them when Dookie came out and then pretty much forgot about them until I started listening to them

My dad USED to like punk. He now listens to Bob Dylan and stuff. But Green Day have realllllly grown on him seeing as I've dragged him to many Green Day shows~

if i was someone who went to high school with my mom, i would want to be friends with her.

she seemed like a pretty cool chick back then.

she was into bon jovi, poison, duran duran, ozzy ozbourne, etc.

she also had her own band, silk champagne. (i guess it was the name of her lipstick at the time)

she played bass guitar.

she was fucking awesome.

My mom doesn't really like any music thats going around these days and she only likes a FEW Green Day songs (like...Good Riddance, Wake Me Up When September Ends, etc.) But she usually likes the older stuff which I'm fine with because I like it too....(Boston, Journey, Eric Clapton, etc.)

And I basically listen to almost everything my Dad listens to (like...The Who, Guns n' Roses, Rush, Metallica, Black Sabbath, etc.) He also (I think) likes listening to Green Day........He says it's way better than the shit thats going around these days!! And I agree with him!! (With some exceptions) I always wish I lived back in their generation, they had so much GREAT music!!!!!

my mom isnt into music but her favorite song is good riddence. my parents always wanna know what im listening too, so when my mom asked whats green day, i put on songs i know she would like (shes likes soft or acustic) so i showed her 21 guns, good riddence, warning. put my mom and I just saw american idiot on broadway so now shes obsessed with everyting on AI and 21CB. my dad has liked green day for a while, but he likes there newer stuff. he loves holiday, and everything on AI. the only exception is that he loves longview and waiting

My mom is a total badass. She likes awesome music, and she has almost the same taste as me. The only difference is that she isn't too big on the punk scene, she doesn't really like the Pistols and only a couple of Clash and Ramones songs. But hey, she loves the Stones and GNR, which are two of my favorite bands now too thanks to her.

My mom likes to tease me about Green Day a lot, but I know she totally loves them too, because she rocks out to them and always comes to the concerts with me.

I don't think my dad has ever hear any Green Day song in his life before. Maybe just Good Riddance when it was on the season finale of Seinfeld. My mom does like Green Day, but only what she considerers their 'softer' songs. As for my older sister, she's the reason I actually liked Green Day. Back in 2000 or so she had some Green Day singles on her iPod and I would just listen to them. She never really listened to them, it was just her bf put them on there. She doesn't really even fancy them at all, I believe. But then around when AI came out I really discovered Green Day through a few friends. I kind of wished my mom really liked Green Day a lot more. I did just recently made her a mix, so I hope she'll enjoy it.

My dad thinks their ok, but he likes a few of their songs. He says their alot better than other bands.

My parents listen to pretty much all kinds of music. They like a few Green Day songs. My mom likes 2 and my dad likes about 4 or 5. They mainly listen to the old top 40 stuff and pop of today which makes me sick cause I hate pop music of today.

With my mom, it's a mixture. She'll either love or hate a band I listen to, but she doesn't really listen to music that much anymore which is beyond me. She did, however, get me into Led Zeppelin, who was her favorite band growing up. A lot of the stuff I listen to now are current bands, like Katastrophy Wife, Gogol Bordello, Green Day (durr!), Rancid, the White Stripes, and a bunch of other groups. I mean, I'm into bands from other decades, it's just that, at the moment, those are the bands I hear more frequently. She's not into most of my stuff.

I did get her into Green Day though. She wasn't impressed with their albums until she heard 21st Century Breakdown. She thinks Billie Joe is really cute, lol, and she brings it up every time I mention them to her.

But I got her into Green Day. She plays them for her students and puts them on all her DVDs she makes for her graduating class and stuff. She also kept 21CB on in the car the whole month I was away in Europe. And she came and saw them with me last year when they came to Perth.

I was raised on punk and metal. So, my parents aren't really big fans of the band since they're used to heavier sounds. My mom loves going to their shows with me though because she just loves concerts. Stepdad, not really. He just will stand there. lol My real dad HATES them. my mum and dad have pretty cool taste in music and they are willing to embrace music of mine and my brother's liking........ but Green Day they are now fans of the band. Infact so much that my Dad asked if he could come with me to one of the shows on the summer UK tour so he came to London and loved it, My mum plays GD Rock Band and sings every time, she knows the words of almost all the songs on the game! Well, since I'm from a black family, everyone seems to have a taste for rap/hip-hop/r&b. While I tend to go into alt./punk/pop rock stuff. I like the non mainstream people like Cassie Steele (you should hear her cover of "Hey Joe" and her song, "Monster") and I feel guilty saying that I even enjoyed the Jonas Brothers for a short amount of time (they're probably still my guilty pleasure). Demi Lovato and Cassie Steele are my favorites because they are more Rock influenced than anything else. My parents don't even bother and I don't think that they would even let me buy a Green Day album even though I really want to. My mom does her oldies/new R&B and rap music, while my Step-dad just listens to whatever's around. My little sister is strictly Justin Beebop (did I spell that wrong?) and refuses to listen to Green Day. Even though I got her to Like "Peacemaker" (yay!). We all hate/like each other's music. So, that's it haha.

In my case.. well my mum is a bit tired we argue really often but we love each other and she always say that I prefer Green Day rather than family which is not true.
