Well very slightly I guess...they don't hate Green Day and they don't love Green Day...

It's not their type of music, so yeah.

My mum likes Green Day... not every song, but most of them. My dad likes 21 Guns, but he's more into 80s music and pop, he doesn't really like Punkrock and Green Day, nevertheless he wanted to go to a concert with me :lol:

They both fairly like them. When 21st Century Breakdown came out my Dad wanted a copy of my album for his car.

my dad's into green day because of me. we have similar taste in music, anyway; the killers, john lennon, queen, the cars etc.

my mum has a hearing disability, so she doesn't really know what's going on in terms of their music. she does think they are very nice, though (watching their interviews on t.v and stuff), and she's really into Tre. she calls him her "stupid one". :) .. i guess it's cause he acts so silly, haha.

My mom likes them, she has the American Idiot album in her card :D My dad thinks their music is good too

Lol, my dad was the one who introduced me to Green Day( and jerry lee lewis[:)

Im actually taking him to the gd concert, even though he's older and doesn't look anything like a gd fan lol(:

I'd say we have are differences in music, but there are some similarities. For example my parents raised me on 80's music so that stuck with me and my dad is now identifying Green Day whenever they are on the radio. He's almost as anti-war as I am so I had him listen to 21 Guns and he liked it a lot, so who knows maybe I'll get him to be a fan.

My mom thinks its loud noise, and my dad calls it shit. So......:whistling: I dont think they're fans. Good thing, too, I wouldnt want them coming to the concert with me!

My mom loves Green Day. She never had their CD's or saw them live, but she loves them, and when I got into them, she loved them more.

My dad likes a few songs, but, in general, he doesn't care much for them.

My Mum loves Green Day, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and MCR.

Its great when I go to gigs as she understands why I like the stuff I do.

Plus its awesome to spend some time together with music you both love.

My Dad hates my music. Hates it.

I think he wanted me to be like a blonde pink princess that loved Abba and A HA.

How about no?

My dad's ringtone is now WMUWSE. I think that says enough. :)

I got my mom into Green Day, she gets on my dad's nerves listening to 21st CB at full volume :P Though he admitted once it's quite a nice record :D

They both got me into the Beatles and Elvis Presley.

well...One day I showed my mother some GD songs and she liked them...then I showed her some pictures with BJ and I asked her if she likes him and she said that BJ is cute :X ...In another day I listened Christian's Inferno and my father wanted to do something at the PC,I let him at the PC but i don't turn off the music.I just sat and looked at him wondering cuz' i knew that he don't likes songs that i like but he just listened Christian's Inferno.I asked him "Do you like that?" and he answered "Do I like what?."

me:"This song?"

Dad:"yeah,y'know,it's nice."

then he saw a picture with BJ and asked "Who the hell is this ugly men?" and I answered"Is the band's lead singer who made this song, daddy  "...and he told me"Oh,yes?well,he isn't very ugly, though :D ..."

me: "yeah,whatever "

I loved when I was talking with her and my sister about how I would like to meet them after the show I'm going, possibly by the buses etc. (I'm always talking about it.. I can't stop.. and My parents are actually getting sick of me talking about them all the time.. That's why my dad is actually sick of them too.. But I know he loves them) ..anyways.. I was talking with her about it.. And I started to dream out loud, and started talking very fast and super excited

I'd say my dad and I have similar music tastes.

He was the one who brought me up on Green Day, after all

When ever it was his day to stay home and watch me while my mom went to work, he said he would Dookie on and I would dance around and he would try and teach me to headbash, and then he would put on a video about how to make beer and I would fall to sleep. He said they were his favourite days

My parents are too big of fans of Green Day but I know my dad likes the song Good Riddance =P and I actually now, since my mom saw them with me in Hartford the 24th, actually likes them. She said the only thing she didn't like was maybe how loud it was or something? haha I don't remember it was way to much fun. :P

I get most of my musical tastes from my mom. She's really big on the whole Woodstock, late 60's and 70's music and I am too. We even have the DVD of it. None of my friends are into that era, so I just chill out and watch it with her. Also she introduced me to music like David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Doors when I was pretty young. I owe a lot to my mom in playing music for me at a young age. I think that's what got me into my own self-exploration of music later on when I started making my own mix-CD's.

The music she's really not into though is old school metal like Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, and punk. She doesn't like much angst in music, but she actually does love Green Day. She says they're refreshing and unique. Also, some favorite bands of mine are Radiohead and Muse, but she can't get into them because they're too depressing or something.

My dad on the other hand is pretty wrapped up in the old school days. He used to be into heavy metal and hardcore punk. Some of his bands I'm into, but others not-so-much. He's not really into listening to new music because he barely has time for anything anymore. The thing that surprises me though is that he's been getting into Country this past couple years haha. Always listening to the country radio, and he'll come home and tell me about a funny song he heard that day.

I don't know, I definitely share some tastes with them, but I still have music that I know neither of them into. I just keep all that to myself.

I'd say my dad and I have similar music tastes.

That's so cool! I think if my parents were closer to Green Day's generation, that would have been the case for me. When Green Day came along, it was the time when both my parents were way too busy with things to keep up in music. I'm really thankful that I got into Green Day when I was younger because I think they influenced me and helped me become who I am now.

my dad rates them very highly, especially live. my mum thinks they're okay, she's not really into oasis.

my dad's very into stones, springstein etc. and he got me into oasis, so he gets extra credit there. he knows abit about current music too, has the arctic monkey's albums and pretty much takes the gallaghers outspoken advice on who to like/not to like

my mum's a beatles chick at heart. and also very into fleetwood mac.

My dad doesn't care for them but he said the concert was pretty good.

I got my mom hooked on Green Day. She really likes the lyrics to their songs. My mom has gotten me into some bands liek Def Leppard, Bruce Springsteen, April Wine, Loverboy, etc. My Dad isn't as big of a Green Day fan as I would like him to be. He's really religious so he really doesn't like the songs that have to do with Jesus, even though when he was my age he liked listening to bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, KISS... I don't know my Dads really confusing... :/
