Lostnfoundtrblbound Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Well my first experiences with Green Day happened when I was in my sophomore in high school. My friend Gab played their music videos for me and played me some of their music. I liked it but I wasn't you know on fire for them by any means. But then in September 2004 I met my friend Zach who was litterally on fire for them. He got me hooked on them to an almost religious dedication. And I'm still thanking him for getting me hooked on them.
SarahJayne Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Ok well, my big sis used to listen to them when i was First born but it really started when i brought the American Idiot album. Then i got more and more so September 2004...
.greenday. Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 well it all started when i heard there songs on the radio on the way to skewl when i was littler(8 or round there) nd ive liked them ever since

AustralianFan Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 About two years here, I've always loved Basket Case and Brain Stew - but I didn't really connect with who they are, start researching them, start being a true fan until about April 2005 - a friend introduced their names, I didn't even know that before. So then I researched and now I look at myself like a huge fan.
Fr33Pink Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 im greenday fan since the last summer 2005,the first green day song ive heard was american idiot but primal i get fan in summer when the song come *wake me up when september ends. Its a pity that ive get to know them so late they are amazing.
Irishangel Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 ever since my bro got dookie and I played Basketcase over and over again and things went from there so I've been a fan for many many years
deadbeat_holiday Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I've only been a proper fan for about 4 years, but my dad's a huge fan- he bought Dookie when it first came out and he also bought Nimrod and Insomniac, so I guess I was brought up on it, but never really paid much attention to it until I got heavily into punk and punk rock a few years ago!
Geena Kerrang Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 7 years and proud of it. Mike's been my hero ever since.
InsomniacN14 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Ummm... Dookie came out when I was... ummm...3, in 1994, but was still on the radio by the time i was seven... which was '98... so about 7 years. Still remember the first time I heard Basket Case, my mom loves the drums, but doesn't, or at least didn't, know the words... so it came on the radio, and I was about 3 or 4, and it came to the part when Billie Joe says "am I just paranoid, or am I stoned?" and I asked "Mommy, what does 'stoned' mean"? And she looked mortified, then started laughing her ass off. Then he got into the second verse, and I started asking what a whore was, and what sex was, and she (for some strange, strange reason) slammed off the radio and started muttering to herself. Looking back it's hysterical, but back then it seemed like I'd really pissed her off :/
ILoveTableArt Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 uh...good question.. I'll take a stab and say 11 years- that's what you get for having older brothers!
Lotus Eater Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I've been a Green Day fan longer than Green Day's been a Green Day fan! Suck on that, foo's.
~*johanna*~ Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I've liked GD for a while, but I will admit I didn't become a huge fan until American Idiot. I thought there Pop Disaster concert rocked, but I think they really are a lot more comfortable these days onstage; the San Fran show in September was awesome! I remember when I first saw the AI video on the telivision, I was like: "Woah! Green Day!" I hadn't heard much about them for a long time. It was a pleasent surprise, and now GD are one of my favorite bands.

I've had Dookie for a long time, but my fandom didn't extend much beyond that. Oh, and I would get really excited when I heard "Brain Stew" on the radio, but I was way too cheap and lazy to go out and buy the CD myself.
~*johanna*~ Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 ^ Well my favorite band was and still is No Doubt, so they both came out in the mid 90s with an upbeat sound, you know? totally different from the whole grunge scene. so of course i've always known who GD was. "Good Riddance" swept me off my feet the first time I heard it. My friend Michael took me to the Pop Disaster tour, it was fun. And I was actually pretty close (compared to SBC park, lol)
Shayna Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 i first heard a green day song when i was 3 and i remember singing that song everywhere i went
I_SAW_TRE_COOL_LIVE Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I never knew Green Day before American Idiot but when i heard their song American Idiot i started loving them and then holiday came out that is one of my all time favourite songs! I started buying all thier albums ( well some...) and loved their music! I was like this is what ive been missing out on...so like ive loved them for 2 years and ive also seen them live!
