I fought the lawn Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 *ahem* When I was about 8, I heard the bassline to Hitchin' A Ride on some TV ad. Then I ended up buying the single. After about 2 months, I had somehow forgotten about music entirely. [Fast-forward to American Idiot] I bought American Idiot, then etc. etc.
Guest Phoebe. Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 My friend Imogen played me International Superhits and I "dug" thier "groove". This was about 18 months ago
WaitingInBattleScars Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Well, I had to count, and it wasn't easy, because of leap year and all that, but I've reached a conclusion. Exactly 2 days and 3 hours.
longview33 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Ehh.. I listened to Nimrod and Dookie with my brother when I was 7-8. Then I forgot about them for the most part, until about 2 years ago.
TotalBasketCase13 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 a little over a year...but i've only been "obsessed" for about the last 4 months.
apocalipstick Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 since '97, when Nimrod came out. I didn't call myself a die-hard fan until ISH came out, cause I was stuck on Blink 182 before that..haha
Whydoyouwanthim Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 hmm... erm.... bout 7/6 years since i was little, my aunt got me into them.
Green_Day_Rox_89 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I've been a fan since i was 5 yrs. old, when dookie came out....i heard longview on tv and i've loved them since then, so its been over 11yrs. and i will forever love them
CaesarSalad Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Umm...just over a year now. Yes, I'm one of THEM. Not the teenie them though.
BassChick_GD Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Like 8-9 years on and off. I heard them for the first time when I was 6 and got Insomniac
ykelly1 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 AI was the first CD I bought, which led to me buying ISH. Once I listened to that one I realized that I already knew (and loved) all of those songs, just never took the time to figure out who sang them. I now have all but Kerplunk and 1039/SOSH (still looking).
greendayalltheway Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I first head about Green Day when I was 13 shortly after Dookie came out. Whenever my brother was out of the house i'd swipe his copy and listen to it since i didn't have a cd player at the time. but fandamodium didn't really sink in until American Idiot came out.
..whatsername.. Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 erm well ive loved good riddance since i was 9ish but i had no idea it was by green day until this past year. interesting story actually, well no its not really that interesting but i know the exact date that i fell in love. i really got into them the first time i heard holiday so i became aware around like 14 months ago but i really REALLY fell in love on july 9th 2005 (the day i discovered good riddance was by them lol) ha now i just sound like a loser. o well
mbk Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Since Feb 1994, so almost 12 years, but during the Nimrod and Warning years I wasn't paying very close attention to them.
PurpleDay Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Fuck I hate when 12 year olds to 13 year olds to 14 year olds say "Oh well my brother listened to them and I sung along to some lyrics so I guess i am a fan since I was 8, 7,6, or 5" hell you would even say you "remember these stange songs when you were 2 and now you remember it was Green Day coming from your Daddy's Cd player. Admit the fact you fell inlove with billie joe's eye liner or the song BOBD and stop kidding yourself. The question was how long have you been a GREEN DAY FAN for. And just because your brother's primary school graduation song was Good Riddance doesn't mean you loved green day back then... SHIT everyone loved that song even non Green Day fans. If this offends anyone well you had it coming.
time honoured tradition Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 two years. since they released american idiot single it was everywhere. i loved it. so since about June 2004
