slappyhours Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 i seriously hated all music and pretended to like rap so i'd have something to talk about until i heard american idiot. so since then. green day just got me into other music.
Hammerlock Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Since I was 4-5 years old, when I first heard Longview on the radio back in 1995.Damned tpos, when I first heard Longview in 1994, not 1995.
Luke of Surburbia Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Couple Of Years??? It depends on how you define ''Became a Fan'' I guess...
My Name Is Carly Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Since i was little. like, 2 years old, when dookie came out, because my brother listened to it.But i may or may not have stolen his copy of dookie a couple years ago... :whistling:
suicidexmakeover Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 well i liked them from when i was about 10/11 but i was never really into them until american idiot.
BloodSexBooze Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Congradulations on posting like a maniac. But other than that.I heard some of it from my brother when I was like 7ish? Of course, I had no idea what the music was about, but at 7 I thought it was good. So around age 10ish I just really listening to it, like, religiously. And then I began to understand it more. So I'd said a solid four-five years.
St. Whatshername Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 You prob. think I am a noob.. but. Hers what happened.Sometime last year My brother's Friend Showed me American idiot. (the song) By this time I already knew about "Time of your life" many, many years before, I just hadn't come to realize it was Green Day. So I listened to AI And I said, "Well, Why not, this songs is pretty decent, lets see what else they've got.."I did, and to my suprise, they rocked. My favorite Album is nimrod. and I am now an "Xtreme" Fan.
Dieing a slow painful death Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I became a fan when my friend had Boulevard of broken dreams on her website. i have become obsessed with them since:/

shenanigans041 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 In like febuary or march of 2005 there was Egos and Icons on Green Day I had heard of them before in like 2003 but i didn't really know who they were. When american Idiot came out I wnet on there website and listened to minority over and over again. The Egos and Icons hardly had any american idiot stuff and it showed interveiws and it had alot of there old stuff in the background and i was like "Hey I love the music in the background, there funny guys too!" and I started going on there website more and more,a couple of times a day! watching the videos on it loving the music and after a while in about May a baught International Superhits! and I listened to it like 3 times a day,I love it so much.So I learnt more about them and baught more cd's and learn more facts and In like June,or still may i don't remeber ,tickets went on sale for a Green Day concert.Which is odd becuase it was september 27th,2005 which was a long time to wait.Over the summer I started likeing them more and more and go t,ore and more stuff, and yeah thats pretty much itWow that was long.So I've loved them for about a year.I've met so many people from being a Green Day fan it's unrealWhats wrong with being a Green Day fan for not that long? It's the fan,not the years. But Teenies make me really really mad.
420 Christie Rd. Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Well, I've been listening to them since forever but never like a big fan. My brother always played them and I knew the words to most songs. Once I heard American Idiot I was like woahh, I heart them. So I bought it then I took the CDs my brother hadd and got the rest. And it's loove. I couldn't tell you an exact date, I don't think. At least a year and a half since the AI thing.
BloodSexBooze Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 damn this site is nothin but green day noobs. damn. And you can say it's full of "green day noobs" while, you're only like 16? Or have you been listening since you popped out of your mothers womb. Seriously.
Tuesdays Child Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I liked their music since Good Riddance ('97ish) so 9 years, but I really became a fan about 1 year ago... my god that seems like a long time to me... I know it isn't...

Guest ☼ Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 When "When I come around" came out.Buttttt their music was in my house waay before then because of my brother.
FOD Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 my dad bought dookie in 96. i was four. the next year he bought nimrod. i remembar listening to them throughout my life. then, a little less then 3 years ago, i heard this girl singing basket case. it sounded SOO familiar, so i asked her what it was. she said it was green day, and that sounded familiar too. she said it was on the cd dookie. once i heard dookie, it all came back to me. i remembered looking at the cover art, wheni was really little. so i went in my garage to look for it the next day and found it, along with nimrod. i took it up to my room, and i was purely blown away. on dookie i remembered longview, welcome to paradise, basket case, when i come around, and she, and on nimrod i remembered hitchin a ride, nice guys finish last, good riddance, and prosthetic head. i thought green day was about the best thing i had ever heard. my dad was glad i liked them. he bought me insomniac, and a few months later american idiot came out and he got me that one too. i now have all the cds.so, about 3 years.
hammer55 Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I've been a fan for four years, around the time Shenanigans came out. I've listened to these guys heavily when they were in a bit of a commercial slump (no new releases). There's obviously people out there that have listened to them for longer, but I don't consider myself a teenie who just came on the bandwagon with American Idiot.
sick Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 About 5-6 years now. Phew. I can say it little shorter too, hehe.
