Believe it or not mine was Know Your Enemy, and now every time it comes up when I'm listening to music I feel like I need to listen to it to honor the fact that its the song that got me into Green Day. Even though its not even close to being on of my favorite Green Day songs.

It was the whole AI album for me. I remember being in my room when I was five years old blasting that shit through my X-box. Of course I didn't understand the record completely and I had no idea how big it was for the band, but damn those we're good times!

Boulevard of broken dreams. My favourite song. Can always relate to it.

I was about 10 years old and the first song I ever heard by Green Day was "Espionage" because I owned the Austin Powers soundtrack at that time. But I didn't actually become a fan until 2 years later in 2005, when I was watching their four song performance for the benefit concert Live 8 which was being televised. The song that from that performance that made me a fan was actually their cover of "We Are The Champions" because I was/am a big Queen fan. I thought the cover was great and in general I thought the way Billie got the crowd to participate for their four song slot in Germany was pretty amazing. After seeing that on TV, I had a family friend burn me American Idiot and when by the second song (JOS) there was no turning back.

The first Green Day song I heard was Holiday. It was in the 4th grade.

One year after that I heard BOBD in the radio, wrote down 'Green Day' and bought the song on itunes!

American idiot, when my friend showed it to me along with all of AIs singles when I was like 7, I fell in love with GD after that

The first song I heard was "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", but I didn't care alot for that one. Then I heard "American Idiot" and thought it was good enough to buy the album when I was like 9. Then hearings songs like "Are We the Waiting", "St. Jimmy" and "Homecoming" made me a fan. :D

American Idiot back in like fourth grade or so. My friend brought in the album to school and from the opening chords of American Idiot I was in love and that weekend I went out and bought the album. That was the first cd I ever bought and I listened to only that album for about a year or 2.

It was "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" and this song is still my favorite because it always reminds me of how I listened the first time to Billie Joe's voice. :toocool:

Because of the Johnny Test theme song, my friend showed me American Idiot. I bought that and 21 guns and i was hooked, then later bought Dookie and it became infatuation.

I can remember my first time hearing a Green Day song too vividly x,x

I was about 5 and a half years old... we were sitting in the car, we just went on the highway to our grandmother and She's A Rebel came on. Ever since I can remember I always loved fast music and when I got home, I literally had it on replay for ages. My brother (who's about 3 years older than me so he knew shit) once learned me working with playlists instead of having to restart the video every time. Stupid childish me put in the song a million times, instead of hitting the 'replay all' button.

Ah, good memories. I never realized I've been a fan for so long, heh, I suppose this forum is good for something.
