Danette Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I remember hearing Basketcase when I was like 5 but I was little so ya. I heard a bit of BOBD on the TV and I bought AI and became addicted to it.
BoJangles Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 The first GD song I remember listening to is When I Come Around, and I remember liking it but I never really got into GD until American Idiot. :/
PartyPunk Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I think it was basket case when I was like six and I've listened to them ever since

julespunk04 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I remember hearing/watching the video for Minority when it first came out and I guess I was like 10 maybe? And I was like "Those guys are weird, I'll never like them!" And then I turned the T.V. off. Then later on like a year ago maybe? A little longer then a year..anyways I heard it again and it made me fall in love with them. Haha funny how things work out
..::BJA4EVA::.. Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I remember hearing/watching the video for Minority when it first came out and I guess I was like 10 maybe? And I was like "Those guys are weird, I'll never like them!" And then I turned the T.V. off. Then later on like a year ago maybe? A little longer then a year..anyways I heard it again and it made me fall in love with them. Haha funny how things work out i was like that with all the bands my sister tried to make me like, i was like they're weird and they suck. and then like when i was 12, i started listening to them. now, my music list is soo big, i can't even remember half of bands i love, need to look on my MySpace<3 xxx
Supermodel*Robot Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Good Riddance.I always loved that song, since it came out, but i was only 5 and didnt think to look into the band. Then the american idiot album came out and i was like HOLY SHIT, these are the same people? I can't remember which A.I song i heard first, but now i've heard any green day song you could think of
Anko Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 ^Me too ~-greenday-~ but I was 7 and for me it was BOBD.
Rebecky Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 umm...holiday...up until American Idiot came out, i wasn't really a big music fan...lol
Blue-Eyed Liberal Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 My mom always listened to Kerplunk and Dookie when I was little but the first song that truly made me a fan was Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). I have been addicted ever since!
SCABBERS Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 American idiot on the radio and then i saw the clip and i liked it even more
S.cattered Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I think it was either Longview or Basketcase...i remember watching them on Video Hits when I was really young but I think i wasn't a big fan till AI. Its like I didn't really notice good music when I was younger and it didn't mean as much to me...
sydneygirl Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 When I Come Around and Longview. I remember at like 1 or 2 in the morning rocking my baby son off to sleep to those songs when they were playing on the TV late at night. I immediately took a liking to Green Day when I saw those. I thought they were really good.
Mauri Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Basket Case... when my guitar teacher told me to listen to it and, if I liked it, he would teach me how to play it... and I loved it!!
facE Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Holiday. I was never old enough to understand their older stuff. i tape recorded holiday and used to listen to it like ten times in a row. and then i heard Good Riddance on the last episode of seinfeld and i came to the conclusion "i like them. now ive got all their c.ds. the end.
HMMbands Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 well i barely remember hearing when i come around when i was younger and when i first heard good riddance it sounded really familiar. then a few years ago i first saw the video for holiday and i was like "so thats who green day is". a lot of bands i like really like and have listened to green day for a while so i have heard of them. and after i saw holiday i saw the video for longview. and was like "o wow that looks like an old video" then i was at the store and found International Supervideos DVD. and so i bought it and heard some of their old stuff. then i bought international superhits. well actually i bought international superhits and american idiot at the same time but i didnt listen to american idiot for the longest time, so those two were my "1st albums". then i bought the rest of their albums. have all 9 now
