UR MOTHER MUHAHAHAHA!!!!! Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Mine was Good riddance too but i started getting interested in dem when i herd American Idiot on da radio it all when uphill from there!!!!
Neon Rebel Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 This is sort of a weird explanation..My first memory of a Green Day song was Minority. I was 7 years old and after the video ended, all I could think about was 'Green Day. Parade. Green Day. Parade.' and it pissed me off that I didn't remember the name of the song. About 2 years ago I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio for the first time and when they said Green Day I just about spazzed. So after that I wasn't going to let them slip away again and I made it a priority to go get the American Idiot CD. Which I did. After I became a dedicated fan, I went and bought Nimrod. After I heard 'Good Riddance' I was all: "WOAH. They did that song too?!" 'Cause I had heard that song so many times and I had no clue who played it. Then I bought Dookie and I found 'When I Come Around' and I had the same reaction as 'Good Riddance'. I also went on Launch.Yahoo.com one day to see the Green Day videos, and while going through them..I was reunited with the song that started it all for me..Minority. I was so excited. And once again 'Green Day. Parade. Green Day. Parade.' ran through my head as if I was 7 again.
greenday676 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I'm thinking probably Good Riddance because my dad used to play it a lot. But then again, there's also Basket Case, When I Come Around, and Longview.
Guest ~GhOsT~ Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 i think holiday was the first Green Day song i heard....idk but even though i havent been listening to them for that long i still have listened to...almost all of their songs...so yeah i like more than just AI
nascarfan514 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 my first green day song was good riddance. but i didnt know who it was by. and then after american idiot came out, i found good riddance again and i was shocked. i honestly didnt think that song would be by them. but that just shows what a great band they are. i agree with ~GhOsT~ i like all of their older songs too. not just ai.
farrell Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 i had heard many, but originally i was an OFFSPRING fan,so i was supposed to "hate" GREEN DAY  and therefore i never paid attention!but it was a weekend on mtv and the last song i got to catch was "good riddance"so i guess that was the song that made me pay attention,a little bit more closely! i dunno
Fuck_Off_and_Die Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 The first Green Day song i heard was American Idiot on Mtv Italia
Guest Billie_Joe_Lover27 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Wake me up when September ends! My friend showed me it on yahoo videos! I fell in love from that day on!!
Billie Joe's Girl 4ever Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 the first song I herd was Good Ridance (Time Of Your Life) hell, I was a 5 year old and didn't know about Green Day. then I herd Boulevard Of Broken Dreams on the radio, and I've been into Green Day ever since. (my first album was Shenanigans, so I'm not one of these teenies hooked on American Idiot)
annie Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The first song I heard was Longview, but I was like 4 years old, so it didn't make me a fan. I would say Good Riddance was the first song I heard that I liked and actually knew it was Green Day.
