This is sort of a weird explanation..

My first memory of a Green Day song was Minority. I was 7 years old and after the video ended, all I could think about was 'Green Day. Parade. Green Day. Parade.' and it pissed me off that I didn't remember the name of the song. About 2 years ago I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio for the first time and when they said Green Day I just about spazzed. So after that I wasn't going to let them slip away again and I made it a priority to go get the American Idiot CD. Which I did. After I became a dedicated fan, I went and bought Nimrod. After I heard 'Good Riddance' I was all: "WOAH. They did that song too?!" 'Cause I had heard that song so many times and I had no clue who played it. Then I bought Dookie and I found 'When I Come Around' and I had the same reaction as 'Good Riddance'. I also went on Launch.Yahoo.com one day to see the Green Day videos, and while going through them..I was reunited with the song that started it all for me..Minority. I was so excited. And once again 'Green Day. Parade. Green Day. Parade.' ran through my head as if I was 7 again.

and therefore i never paid attention!but it was a weekend on mtv and the last song i got to catch was "good riddance"

hahahahahah no, i heard basket case on the radio when i was thirteen and i bought insomniac because the record store was out of dookie, and then like, the next year i think is when AI came out and someone gave it to me as a b-day present. i have all their records, but yeah. hahahah i bought dookie as a six year old...
