Mine was Christie Road if I remember correctly. I dropped the needle on the record to pick a song and that was the one I heard first.

Good Riddance was technically the first Green Day song I ever heard, but seeing the American Idiot music video on tv was the first time I actually really knew who they were.

same here

The first Green Day song I consciously remember hearing was "Good Riddance," way back in the seventh grade. Which is probably why up until about a year ago, I thought that Nimrod was Green Day's first album

The first song I heard was Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), which I really liked, but never knew who it was by, until I really go into Green Day with American Idiot and looked up some of their older stuff and found Good Riddance was thiers...

American idiot..

Good Riddance, back when I was about 5 or 6. I got into them around American Idiot (I never listened to the radio because I hated it all [i was smart at 7, no?] so I had no clue Warning existed. It was the type of music I was into at 10), and found Good Riddance when I was lookign at the track list on my brother's copy of Nimrod.

It's SO very sad, but my first Green Day song i ever heard was Boulevard of Broken Dreams, which is a great song, but NEVER going to be as good as some of the old ones, but w/e....it's a good song, and i just saw the music video on VH1, and got hooked forever

(which i know is so stupid, cuz everyone else is gonna say like Longview, and how they saw it first on MTV...but w/e..stickin to "my roots" to to speak)

Well, I remember hearing Good Riddance as a kid, but I never realized it was them until after I became a fan. Conciously knowing it was them, I'm not certain, but I think it might have been Holiday.

that i remember - good riddence

tho i had heard basketcase before that, i just didnt click that the two were connected

I don't know if these were the first i heard or if they were just the first two i liked from green day but, Nice Guys Finish Last and Good Riddance. I don't know which one i actually heard first but, i remeber telling my brother to play them like all the time cause he had the Nimrod cd.

The first song I heard was basketcase quite a few years ago. It then became a ritual for me to sing it loudly before going to my damned P.E. class.............

i think it was longview.....i saw the video on tv when i was five and everytime it'd come on i'd glue myself to the television(not literally......i only did that once........and then tv fell on me and cut me very badly.......very bad experience.....)
