jesus the rage guy Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 me too agree all green day music rules the world¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
~*johanna*~ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Bands are supposed to evolve. we can appretiate who they were before, but there is not use in praying for them to be "like they were before" because that's just not gonna happen. Good musicians should change and evolve. If they don't, they're kinda boring to me! Anyway, the member of GD aren't in their 20s anymore. So obviously they're not gonna be exactly like they were back then. younger tre, mike, & billie: green day now:

Fuzz Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I get dozens of stupid emails from 13 year olds claiming to be 'the biggest green day fan'. After a while it's just kinda the norm, and it doesn't bother. I dont respect Green Day any less because they have some really annoying fans, but I respect them more because they write amazing music to their own standards. They knew writing American Idiot was a big chance, because they had no clue how anyone would react to it. They didn't expect it to become this huge thing like it has, and just because Warner is making as much money as they possibly can off their talent, doesn't mean Green Day is any less of a punk band. They write for what they believe in, for what they stand for. They still write for the feelings that most people have, it's just in today's world a lot of more of those people are around. Unfortuantly there are alot of people who only like them for their looks, or because they are popular. But how does that make the band any less of a band? It doesn't.
~*johanna*~ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I don't think it matters how old a fan is. I was a fan of the Beatles when I was 5...or before...my dad used to play them all the time. And I still am a fan! Doesn't really matter in my opinion. As long as they like them.

It's just i think the whole popularity thing has gotten to their heads nothing to do with their looks, i don't even find them good looking

justcause Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 don't get me wrong, i agree with what your saying. It's just i think the whole popularity thing has gotten to their heads nothing to do with their looks, i don't even find them good looking 'Gotten to their heads' is one of those comments you hear all the time, with nothing to justify it. What have they actually done to make you think they've lost any of their integrity?
~*johanna*~ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 ^ I agree, justcause. Because they're more famous now doesn't mean it's "gotten to their heads". what does that mean anyway? it's like... being rock stars is what they do. it's who they are. they totally love doing it and i'm sure they're grateful to their fans who appritiate their music. green day's music really is important to me. i can't write songs really well that represent how i feel, they do. and they're amazing at it

Guest RhetoricalGrasshopper Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 WHY do there have to be topics like this? ...Why.

Jillie Boe. Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 yea i can understand why some idiots say that(sorry if i offend someone but is my point of view) thanks , i just can't explain what i mean, i've always thought that green day were stuck up (you know it's true ) and i think their a bit bigheaded for their own good now( or just billie :/ ) and now that their really popular now look at it, their worse then ever. Not in their music, but their attitude. they were a lot more/were (either one) down to earth before american idiot, i guess this is just billie really, mike and tre are kinda the same as they were before. and that was the other thing, i'm not writing the whole thing out again. I just read that and it seems that i'm going on at billie a bit, but i think he's the worse one. (It seems, cause like you or me i don't know them)

(It seems, cause like you or me i don't know them) When you say 'stuck-up' , do you mean that they're proud of what they do, and not afraid to say it ? That they were happy with all the success and respect that finally came their way, that they liked getting awards when for years nobody took them seriously?! As Andres said in an earlier post, they had no expectation of that success when they did AI, they did it because they believed in it, they went out on a limb. As for Billie, he has the most humility I've ever come across in such a gifted man.

As Andres said in an earlier post, they had no expectation of that success when they did AI, they did it because they believed in it, they went out on a limb. You maybe think Billie is 'the worse one' because he does most of the talking - but have you ever heard Mike or Tre disagree with him? They're by his side in everything, the three of them brought each other up as far as I can see. And Billie has the most humillity I've ever seen in such a gifted man. of course billie is gifted, they all are. I'm glad they don't care about what people think and that their proud of themselves, which they should be. It's just they state it a lot and eventually their comes a point when they....how can i put it, go on too much and it just makes them seem stuck up. Like when they say "were the best band in the world" they've been saying that from the start and it's even worse now, it just gets annoying and it can at times make them look bad. I have a feeling you'll take this the wrong way, cause i'm really bad at explaining my posts, which you've already realized, i think :/
Lorelei Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 What I find ironic is that a lot of the young teenagers that never listened to GD before and jumped on the American Idiot bandwagon are now the ones saying they "sold-out" and now they suck and "old GD is sooo much better." What the fuck? They are the ones that caused GD to become so overexposed and they didn't even know what "old Green Day" was before. I guess it's the new cool thing to say. And Teenagers calling each other teenies.. it's just unbelievable.

minority_jaded Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Stop whining, they grew up. Plus, I am sick of these threads. To all of the n00bs and stupid members, just don't. It pisses people off (including myself) to see the same 3 threads repeated over and over and over again. As for this subject, we've had atleast ten of these from the time I joined, and it is a never ending circle of whinyness.
Jillie Boe. Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 i just get the feeling, that everyone is against me here.......
