I don't think about 'old' or 'new' Green Day music. I see it as Green Day, and I love every song they wrote/made.

Yes. This. Except I don't like every song

everyone knows green day sucks now... so why the millionth thread on it?

you are so wrong it's just because they released American idiot and it was the best album and i don't think that they can do a better album that's why we fell that they are changed but they are still good and full of ideas to make

like many others on this topic i dont see it as old or new and tbh i dont care if anyone thinks green day has changed when really all they did was grow up. I love all their albums for different reasons and thats it for me :) also does anyone else not hate the people that arent real fan,s saying the old green day were better when albums like warning ( which is an amazing album ) sold so poorly and when they "changed" they can lunch huge tours with huge shows such as wembley stadium ! any way i can see green day stay at the top and means i can see them on world tours works for me :)

I agree, I really dont think theres a difference, I mean sure the music has gone to a whole new level, but I love it. Green Day will always be the same...true, honest, and just fucking amazing

To me, there's no 'old' and 'new' Green Day.

Just GREEN DAY, the band that I love no matter what because of who they are, how they act, what personality they have and because of the fact that they always do what they want and stand behind their opinions. I know I'd love every song they'll do because I love them as people, not just because of their music.

I wouldn't say there is such a thing. I mean take When Its Time for example. That song was written years ago but not released untill now, so which is it? All their songs have that same 'GD' element to them. Idk I just don't see a split in any way.

old and new are both brilliant, but in completely different ways. tis not possible to pick one.

when you think about it, it's kinda like the Beatles. their sound at the beginning and the end of their run were entirely different, but both entirely awesome and in their own little ways. you don't find people bashing either psychedelic or moptop Beatles, and I think it's the same principle with Green Day. Old, new, who cares? It's still Green Day, it's still the same band we all know and love.

I cant really tell it like this. I mean i think they now care more about other people like the fans the crew or whatever which i think is good. And i love their appearence better nowadays. but on the other hand i'd die to see them live in dookie days. i'd love to see that rough and punk shows they did. with all the blue hair and just the feeling of that young punk band they were. also their lyrics relate to me better of the old songs. so both gree days have their pros and cons. i just hate it when people blame the for developing. i mean c'mon you cant blame someone for growing up ? i understand that with almost 40 they cant sing about the old topics anymore. and so whatever thjeyll do next i wont tell shit about them and see what i like or not. so to answer i love all green days (phases) that ever excisted so far :)

I don't think there are old and new Green Day, like a lot of people said. They're the same people but their minds evolved (you can say they grew up if you want to), they have a different side of view now, also. People change, because their point of view changes, faces, surrounding them change, your most precious people change, situations change... Well you know.

I love Green Day no matter what issue are they now singing about. I can totally relate both to their newest album or to their oldest one. Sure enough, all the song aren't fitting but I understand them.

And I think people should stop comparing two appearances of the band, 'cause it's just the minds, the chord progressions, but not two different bands.
