Jewels!
ok ok ...green day is green daybut why dont they play their old stuff as much as they could...i mean im tired of hearin Wake me up and BOBD etc...people in brazil say green day is EMO!!....how can someone say that!if im wearin a green day shirt they call me emo...stupid shit...everythin is emo down here...if u listen to gree day its emoif u listen to blink its emo...they dont know nothing...cant wait till i go back to america...Now hang on...every teenager in america is now emo. Good luck dealing with that. (Well, about half the people at my school call themselves and other people emo.) It's getting ridiculous.I really miss how Green Day used to be. They were just so young and energetic. They still are today, but there was just something about them when they were 18, 19, and 20.
Aless
New Green Day = Old Green Day.Even if you're Punk Rock revivalists, you have to try new stuff, you have do new things. You can't stick with the same shit for more than 16 years... And anyone who hates Green Day, just because they try new shit, doesn't deserve to be called a Green Day fan.but why dont they play their old stuff as much as they could...i mean im tired of hearin Wake me up and BOBD etc...That's not Green Day's choice, that's MTV's/Radio's/VH1's choice. Milan.
I like both old and new Green Day from different Aspects, you cant expect them to act like a bunch of 16 yr olds at 33-34, they have to grow up sometime
billiejoeiskingofpunkrock
When I look at a band (or a solo artist) I see just that band or person. I don't say old or new because I don't think that a band or person should be looked at like that. To me Green Day is Green Day.
Hugo?
no shit they grew older, what you think they're gonna stay young forever, maybe in PeterPan but not here, sorry.so i think they look good with their 'uniforms' and eyeliner, they seem like they care the way they look....besides 'wake me up ' is about Billie's dad, and if you can respect that then what kind of fan are you?? so what if they matured....fuck you...don't get me wrong... i loved the punk sound too, but things change, and you need to realize that not everything is going to go the way you want it to. maybe you need to do a little time growing up...no! don't get me wrong man! i was talking about all those other fans that left them. I still love green day the way they are now and the songs..gee!
AlexisMarieMays
So Green Day did change. But "old" Green Day and "new" Green Day are both still Green Day. So what's the diff?
*Megan*
^ Ditto.I like "old" and "new" the same.
Cassie.
I like both. Its just the fact that a whole lot of teenies caught onto them and then suddenly it was uncool to like American Idiot. Even though a lot of new fans came from that doesnt mean we shouldnt like it anyway.
Totally obsessed
I agreeI agree too - they were a good band when they recorded 1039/SOSH and they're still a damn good band now! I don't give a shit if they've changed cos they still write amazing songs! A true Green Day fan just deals with it

St_Jimmy_10
Does it really matter if Green Days music has changed? It's not like they're complatly different people, they're still the same band they where 16 years ago.
insomniac_ecy
there s no need to miss it!both are cool and u can use ur old green day cds...
RaeAnna
Yeah, I do miss the old Green Day. I just loved how immature they were. I could relate to them more before because they were like kids. Now, they're so popular and they got ahead of me. AI is still good. And at least we still have Green Day. I mean, be thankful that Billie, Mike, and Tre haven't died in a freak marching accident or something.

punkrock-chick
It doesn't bother me the new Green Day is still extreamly fantastic... but I miss the time when they mucked around ALOT more than nowbut let them be what they like, they are good the way they always are

ArmatageShanks39
it seems like they did stuff i could relate to, and they were wild and crazy. they were definatly punks. i just watched that video on the australia tv show, they were soooo fun and unpredictable. i mean, saying fuck and hijacking instruments on a live kids show and playing their most explicit song? they were so badass. i like their new stuff, but they were more something i could really really look up to before. now theyre just a great band, not that interesting. XbernieX
just because they've grown up doesn't mean they aren't as much punk as they were earlier....they and their music has just developed and the sound has changed but I like the old songs as much as I do the new ones
