yeah i cant talk about them with my friends either, i talked about them so much they always tell me to shut-up for mentioning them and my girlfriend is the same way, if were at my house and in my room she always puts on other cds like deftones or the radio and if i'm driving around with her and they come on the radio she always turns them off ASAP! its really annoying acually.

okay i have a story.

alright me and my close friend mark were going to start a band, you know write some songs and what not. anyways i was over to his house and we had a drummer come up and he knew a lot of Green day which was perfect becasue i know basicly every song, so we started to pratice with some more popular covers of jesus of suburbia, welcome to paradise, when i come around and holiday... ect ect anyway my friend mark was really pissed off about us playing Green day and mark likes a lot of blind melon/red hot chili peppers and he was asking the drummer to play some crap he never heard of so mark got really pissy. anyways the jam ended with us just sitting in a circle passing around an acoustic playing random sing-a-longs. the next jam we had we tried to write something and we just couldent. our influnences were just totally different. me and the drummer tried to keep asking mark for jams so we could give writing some stuff another shot but mark kept blowing us off.

that was my last jam with mark and he hasent talked to me since. i think his pissed because no one likes his music, but i think he likes that fact that no one likes his music.... do you know what i mean? i mean that mark hates popular/mainstream music yet he gets pissed when not a lot of people like or play his kind of music.

WOW so many people with same problems as me I thought I was the only person at all that has shit friends who don't like Green Day but it seems to me I'm not alone any more.

My best friend just basically hates groups like Green Day... She listens to groups like System of a Down, Korn and Marilyn Manson that kind of really hard metal music, pretty shitty....

Whenever I mention Green Day in her presence, she starts saying "Aw those guys with eyeliners, they're pretty ugly" I hate stuff like that. Just lately she was at my place and I have a poster of GD at the wall and she said " what do you like in them?" that's unfair because I don't like Marilyn MAnson, too but I don't say anything about how disgusting he is.......

I don't know anyone from our classroom that likes GD... But my brother likes them tooo... I learned him already

I know we can't the same opinion when it comes to anything so we just respect each others opinions and stick to ours. I can't FORCE my friend to like gd..

whenever i try to talk about the meaning of the lyrics they either blow me off,

tell me that they dont even get it, or worse start talking about all the new hot

i have trouble talking to some of my friends, but i think that they've learned to live with it, they love me to much. lol. i try not to bring up the subject when i'm around them, for their benefit. i have friends who i can talk to about green day, so i talk to them instead of my friends who don't like talking about it.

Well I have these 2 friends are "new" Green Day fans, you know the type who think bobd is aaaamazing and jealous that Billie is married has kids etc, and whenever I go round to one of their houses when they're both there and they're talking about GD I get really jealous and annoyed for some reason and feel like shouting at them "you can't like GD, you're not punk enough and you haven't liked them long enough, back off they're my band!!!!!!"

My friends usually don't mind when I talk about green day alot, but they do get annoyed when they'll say something and i"ll say "hey, it's like that one song." and start singing out of nowhere. But this year I started a new school, and I met someone who is as obsesed as I am, so that's pretty cool. we'll ditch our other friends to talk about Green Day.
