Minority_GD Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Oh, and I also met Tre at the first Birmingham show.... I think it was the first Birmingham show.... No one else knew it was him, which was the best thing ever.Tell us the story!!!!!
Ryan And The Ave. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I haven't met them, yet. But I would love one day to recored an EP with them for my own personal collection, that would be my dream!
Kryssi. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Tell us the story!!!!!Okay! I think it was the 2nd night at the Birmingham LG Arena, yes... it was. Because I had been really ill during the day and I didn't queue along with Jordan and Becki (who got barrier and got picked) and I went in with Beth to get our wristbands. We got into the arena and stood on the right side as we always did and near the barrier, just chilling out. And about 15 minutes into Prima Donna, Beth decided that she wanted to go and get a drink and I needed one too so I went along with her. So, we walked out the side of the inside of the arena into the foyer and we saw this guy just emerge wearing a red and black shiny lucha dor mask and Beth was like, "Hey, let's get a photo of you and that guy together!" We were close to this guy and then all of a sudden this huge guy comes up to us and was like "Hey guys, back off okay!!" and I was like, woah, holy shit. I then figured out that it was actually Tre walking around the venue and everyone else was completely oblivious that it was him. Snoo mask in hand, I put it on and started to follow behind him but keeping a distance so we didn't have that guy shouting at us again. Tre made his way around the side of the foyer and back into the venue... the guy saw us walking kinda near and he was like "C'mon guys, leave him alone." We weren't even doing anything that was threatening his identity or anything... Tre then made his way right just near where we were standing before we had went out to get a drink.. he must've known we were standing there and we stood a few meters away from him and i just carried on watching Prima Donna and bopping my head along to the music. Beth whispered in my ear, "Don't look now but Tre's looking at you." "Seriously?" and she nodded. So I turned my head and saw that he was staring right at me and wasn't looking away at all when I looked at him. I then started to make faces at him and then stuck my tongue out, he then just smiled and stuck his tongue back out at me and then i turned back and watched Prima Donna again. A few minutes later, he walked past me and outside the barrier and looked at me as he went. I didn't want to go in for a hug as it may have bee really awkward and he may have not of wanted to. So I just put my hand out and he gently rubbed his hand over mine and went back into the backstage area. That was awesome.
Minority_GD Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Wow That's really cool.Tre probably thought "wtf , why isn't she paying attention to me?"
Kryssi. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hehehe It's certainly surreal knowing that he was staring at me for a good couple of minutes. And then, I found out something else, which also made me smile, i only found it out the other night though.

JHyena86 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 That was awesome.:wub:I think that may be my new favorite meeting-them story. Following Tre around in a Snoo mask. Brilliant. It must have looked pretty strange to other people to see both masks walking around though

Apparently Tre was behind her wearing a wrestling mask during the Prima Donna set.
Kryssi. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 What else did you find out ? o.oDon't make me so curious Ha, well, my friends who talk to Scott who is one of Green Day's roadies, one of them asked what Tre thought about the masks that Jordan and I were wearing and bought to the shows and he said that Tre thought it was absolutely hilarious and amazing that we did it and that he couldn't stop talking about us.I love that man so much.
Sarahnade. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Oh, Kryssi, I'm so happy for you! That post made my heart flutter. <3I can only imagine how excited Tre and the rest of the guys were to see you guys in those masks. Especially since you all went to so many shows. I bet they found it hilarious. I can imagine it was the thing to talk about right after the show.
Kryssi. Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Thank you, Sarah. It's just still ... too hard to really contemplate that shit like that can happen to a normie like me...
Hermione Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Thank you, Sarah. It's just still ... too hard to really contemplate that shit like that can happen to a normie like me...You're not a normie Kryssi :teehee:. Your Tre story is wonderful though, it's so great when the band and fans get mutual enjoyment from each other! It's really nice to know they were tickled by that, thanks to you they know England loves The Network and that is quite an achievement.
Rae'n'shine Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Amazing story, Kryssi!! I love that Tre talked about you and the Snoo mask a lot!

Kryssi. Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 D'awww, you guys. Don't make me think such good things!
Kryssi. Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Awwwhhhh that's so awesome Kryssi!! :DSharon told me a similar story, maybe it was in Birmingham as well. Apparently Tre was behind her wearing a wrestling mask during the Prima Donna set.It was the same night, Sharon was standing near to me.
Sarahnade. Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I'm stealing Josie's idea for a Longview sign, and enhancing it. When they come back to the US, I'm going to go with my friend and have her hold a "Peacemaker!" sign, because they totally should play that. And a sign that says something like, "I can sing Longview better than BJA. (Not really, but you should give me a shot.)" That'll probably be tough to fit. I'll probably use pillow cases. And I love how I'm planning all of this when they won't be here for a loooong time, aha.
