that was rather harsh of him

yes, but we were like 5 fans who just said Hi and then respected that he wanted to spend time with his family alone, and then a guy just ran up from nowhere and literaly put the camera in his face.

Aww, Billie is so sweet! Keeping fans from getting run over...

Yes, he is fantastic. And I'm sure that I'd get hit if he not were there stopping me, cause I was completley chocked at the moment.

so last thing I told him was "I LOVE YOU" to which he replied with that amazing smile of his. Next thing I knew, security were rushing me to get off the catwalk, I grabbed my bag and sign from the front row and had to go to the middle of the crowd. I was so dazzled and immensely happy that the next two songs (St. Jimmy and BOBD) remain a blurr in my head. I was just thinking "Did this just happen?"

Oh, it's a great story of yours. but why did you have to go back in the middle of the crowd? the security guards helped me back to my frontrow ;o

And I know what you mean, I don't even remember the two next songs after getting down from the stage.

Thanks Chris. :) Awwww lucky you to have been able to get back to the front row! :woot:

Security in Forum CPH were really a-holes and as I asked to go back to the front row they (not-so-gently) pushed me and pointed me that I had to get to the middle of the venue. Those were the same security who, few minutes before the start of the show, told me "You can't have a sign. The band doesn't want any signs" to which I replied "I know the band for 5 years and I KNOW they like signs" and after a smiley whining from me ("Ahh come ooooon, it's just to ask the drummmer for a drumstick. I won't block other people's views, promise!") they finally allowed me to tape the sign to the barrier. :)

Ooh. But I think it was worth loosing your frontrow? ;)

The security in Sweden was the most amazing securityguards I'ver met. They were singing along, joking, talking to billie and stuff. They were amazing!

And me and my friend had a sign "You brought us together, now bring us on stage" and they took it away from us even if it was hanging on the barrier.:(

Thanks Rita. Yes, it was AMAZING. I still cannot believe it.

Damn right you are! It was BEYOND worth it. :D

Those security guys in Stockholm were awesome! Too bad they took you the sign. :(

My friends at the GD gig in Portugal had several signs and no one minded!

Almost forgot to say... I learnt that Billie Joe CAN multi-task: sing, hold a microphone and take a picture at the same time. :P

wow, Isabelle and Michelle your stories really

are amazing! I'm so happy for you you met them, if I'd

meet them I wouldn't even realise

It's nice to see they're just the same in the real life and

on stage, because if they weren't down to earth that'd

be really deceiving, but if they're that nice and even

remember their fans I just love them even more! But omg

I really wish I saw them fighting for candy! I've never met

them and I don't think I ever will but I'm sure I'm completely

gonna freak out XD

Michelle your tattoo really looks cool, but didn't it hurt alot?

AND (this question may sound quite stupid but I really need

to know XD) how does Billie smell?
:ninja:
(I kinda have a

phobia of stinking celebs XD)

Awww thanks :D They really are amazing and what you see is definitely what you get in person  and thanks for the tattoo compliment :D and umm it did hurt but my pain tolerance is high and it was definitely worth the pain! And haha ohh that question made me laugh :) Umm i dont really know how i would describe his smell, probably beer, leather, cigarettes with a mix of good cologne :D haha!! That question was completely original and i loved it!

Never in my life I thought I'd post in this thread.

On October 9th I went to my first Green Day concert. Best gig and best night of my life.

I was on the first row, left side of the catwalk. Great spot, and the gig was absolutely FUCKING AMAZING.

Then "Are We The Waiting" came. This song has a very strong meaning to me. It's like the soundtrack for all the years I dreamt about seeing my favourite band play live for the first time. And now, there I was, watching them, having the time of my life, and singing as loud as I could.

So, Billie comes to the catwalk again, singing, looks at me, points at my sign ("Hey Tré! I come from Portugal. Give me a drumstick!" ), and makes that gesture with his finger as someone who's reading... then his hand gesture changes to a "come here" gesture!!! I pointed at myself and yelled "Me? ME?" I was in complete shock and I couldn't believe it was really ME who he called onstage. He was singing all this time and as security was pulling me from the crowd, he yelled "COME ON!"

Security sat me on the catwalk, I got up, Billie came to me and I gave him a very tight hug and he hugged back. It was the best moment of my life. I said "THANK YOU" during the hug. He was very sweet and his arm was always around me while on stage. I tried to take a photo of us with my camera, so Billie took the camera from my hand and HE took us the picture with my camera!!! :woot: We sung a bit of the Are We The Waiting chorus together, it was absolutely brilliant. He was always smiling at me. Then Billie had to go back to the main stage, as St. Jimmy was about to start, so last thing I told him was "I LOVE YOU" to which he replied with that amazing smile of his.

The rest of the concert was absolutely amazing, everything was fantastic and I had a great time even though the view wasn't so good (I'm quite short compared to most people from Scandinavia  ).

After the gig I met Mike and Jason Freese.

First it was Jason. He was so patient and lovely, signing everything everyone handed to him. I talked to him about how awesome he is in all the instruments he plays and he smiled brightly and said thank you. Then I said "I hope you will come to Portugal again next year!" and he replied "Definitely! We loved Portugal!" :D We talked a bit more, took a photo and then he had to go. Such a nice guy, I loved meeting him.

Then Mike came out!! There weren't so many people there, which was good. He autographed my ticket too and we talked a bit.

Me: "Thank you for the show, it was the best of my life."

(other people also thanked him and he was very glad we enjoyed the show and said he had a great time too)

Me: "You're the best bass player since John Entwistle."

Mike (makes a proud/shy expression): "Awwww, thank you."

Guy who was also asking for autograph: "Who is that?"

Mike (with a funny tone in his voice of someone who's saying something as elementar as 2+2=4): "John Entwistle..."

Mike and me: "...from The Who"

Mike: "I met John once."

Me: "Aww, really?"

Mike: "Yeah. He was a very salty man."

Then other people started talking about other things and asking him to take photos and security said they had to go and rushed Mike to go to the bus, so he apologized to us and went to the bus. I didn't get to take a photo but I felt very special to talk to him about something we both love, that no one else there cared about.

Best night of my life. Enough said.

That's amazing, I can't believe he took the camera!

I'm so happy you had such an awesome experience, that's so great!!

Yes, I think it's alot about which mode the guards are in :)

^amazing!

Makes me sad that i still haven't officially met him.

This is the extent of our one and only "conversation":

me (after grabbing his face and smooching his cheek): would you mind if i licked the sweat off your face?

billie: go for it!

---cheek licking ensues---

billie: you're fucking awesome

---speechless---

i can't think of a bigger accomplishment in my life than that.

wow i'd like to do that too but i think i wouldn't have the courage to ask it........ great story !

This thread's title depresses me.

But it's so awesome that some of you got to meet them. :)

Suzie, that's such a sweet story.

LOL @ Mike. "He's such a salty man."

Oh, and Maddy, I love you.

He needs a couple of those, though.

I met Billie on September 18th at the American Idiot Play in Berkeley.

Adrienne and all his brothers and sisters and his mom were all there.

It was lucky that we went two nights or I would have never known

he was there! That would have crushed my soul forever.

I shook his hand and he was nice and he said, "Cool, thanks alot for coming!"

Ahha, that's so generic, but it was special for me!

Then he went upstairs and said, "I gotta bounce." It was funny..

I think I already told my Mike and Tre stories, but now I can say

I've met 3/3 of Green Day (except the Jasons, who are on a

seperate list).

^Aw, that's cute. Haha, Billie saying, "I gotta bounce," is pretty funny.

aww man, lucky you! i was there the first two nights. they were all at the first show and i kept seeing billie joe walking around. he even ran right by me to the bathroom at one point but i was too retarded to say anything, but my face was stuck like this when it happened: :o . i had met Mike and Tre earlier in the week for the first time so i didn't want to bother them either but i did talk to Jason W and he told me that i was "really strange"

You are pretty fucking strange Zoe.

LOL @ "I gotta bounce."

I usually say "I'm gonna peace out so..." when I'm leaving somewhere. I would die if I heard him say that.

Ahaha, my response was sarcasm bby

I normally play with people's hair all the time. If it's long, I really want to braid it. If it's short, I just want to run my fingers through it.

Omgggg if I met the guys in a natural relaxed setting like that, I would TOTALLY get them to join in on my 'sing about anything you see/think'. Which is what I do. All the time. I'm singing to myself about posting this right now as we speak:

(8)I'm postiiiiing

On GDCeeeeee

Responding to Zoeeeeeee

But I'm probably saying her name wroooooong

Oh well because the way I'm saying it, it rhymes with Ceeee(8)

Aww, haha, these stories are so lovely.
