That is lucky!! I only have a few friends that like Green Day. (not counting you wonderful GDC'ers)

But I'm considering bringing my mom with to the next Green Day concert. Hahah. If not I'm totally gonna get floor tickets and probably pass out from heat by the time the concerts over. Haha. But not being able to talk and being unbelievably sore the next day is soooo worth it because it reminds you of the concert. Haha.

Yes GDC has been so good at feeding my obsession. :P My mom actually got the tickets for us to go, she had an awesome time. I know, I'm not sure how long I could last down on the floor, I was hot in my seats lol. Oh man it is totally worth it! Although I think I need to scream even more next time because I didn't even lose my voice!

At the show in Vegas, I was in line with this really cool older lady and she told me that early that morning she had seen Mike gambling down in the casino. She went up to him after she said his name and he looked up from the table he was gambling at. She told him he was the best bassist in the world and that she loved him. They talked about something else (can't remember) and then she asked him if she could kiss him on the cheek. He smiled widely and let her do it. She said she was embarrassed when she realized she had been holding onto his arm the entire time.

I can't believe I missed him in the hotel when I was walking through at the time she said she met him! I had her tell me the story over and over again so I could pretend it was me that kissed him on the cheek.

I know I didn't lose my voice either :(

But I did make my brother deaf hahaha....I was screaming the entire concert. There weren't that many people around me but I'm sure I annoyed them all. None of them were really yelling as much as me...besides this one drunk guy. Haha I'm usually not that loud especially if no one else is being loud...........but I thought "Screw it! I've been waiting for this day for 5 years! I'm gonna scream and have an awesome time!!!" and it was indeed an awesome time :) Haha.

Haha seriously, I'm normally quiet too, but when you're at a Green Day concert it's like "Forget everybody else! I am gonna have the time of my life!!" I think the people who scream like crazy make it more fun, at least for me :)

Yes, and that is why "Time of Your Life" is the absolute perfect ending song for GD concerts.

So true! And I seriously LOVE the sound of thousands of people singing along with quiet instruments or with no instruments at all.. it just sounds amazing to me. And everybody knows that song so it's so awesome.

It is so awesome. Like when Billie comes out to play that at the end of the show and on one part he stops singing just so you can hear the crowd sing the words. That must make him feel pretty good :)

I know! I have seen him with a huge smile after the whole crowd gets really into a song and knows every word, so cute

This thread is addicting...

You can last on the floor! You might be dying within 2 songs in, but when you see Mike and Billie so close to you, you forget how hot it is and then you're just staring at them thinking "HOLY FUCK!" over and over.

If you're at the very front, you'll be fine...well, maybe a few bruised ribs but they'll survive

I'm terrified I'll lose my voice before Longview and I won't be able to sing if I get pulled up! :o

I met Mike Dirnt and Jason Freese on August 5th. I'ma summarize the story but if you want the whole thing feel free to message me.

After the concert in Orlando, FL:

Walked around the venue with my mom and a friend, my mom helped us over a fence that lead to a shitload of busses. They were the crew busses. We chilled there for like, thirty minutes waiting to see anyone of Green Day (Billie, Mike, and Tré's busses were across a two lane road from the crew area). We had to keep hidden because (no lie) around 60 people broke through the barrier up the road and security had to haul them out. We were hiding behind a tree that as about as big around as me, so like 26 inches or something, so it was a miracle we weren't seen. We talked to two crew members, one asked me to hold his cigarette and gave us kudos for not getting caught and walked away, later the other one walked over to where we were crouched and asked if we lived around Orlando, I live in Tampa which is like an hour away, and we talked for ten minutes, he gave me a cigarette and seemed really excited that I liked it because he rolled them himself. When I asked him if he could help us meet at least Mike he told us to walk across the road to another crew member (there were two girls there that were in heels and skanky tops and like, club clothes chillin' with the other crew dude) and to pretend like we had a reason to be backstage. We thanked him and walked slowly, heads held high, across the road and saw the crew member from before, he grinned and high fived me. Security didn't seem to see us or thought we were part of the band's families as we stood ten feet away from the busses (maybe twenty). The crew guy shook our hands, introduced us to the skankily dressed girls who were cold bitches to us and like, sneered at me.

Then, five minutes into talking to them, Jason Freese comes out on a mini motorcycle (the on Tré rides around) and the crew guy asks if he can borrow it because the other girls need to get to their car. Jason lets them and they ride off and he shook our hands and was like "Hi, I'm Jason," and I was like "Oh hey, you're Jason Freese" and he was like "Yep!" "Awesome, you guys had a fantastic show, I loved the Michael Jackson costume, by the way." "THANKS! I only wear it a couple of times and I decided to wear it!!" And my friend, Lauren, complimented his hat and I was staring at his tattoo on his forearm that had the number "10" I asked what it was for and he said his son Tennessee who just turned like, 12 weeks the day before or something crazy young like that. We took pictures, he like, squashed us to his side when he did so. We talked and he smoked a cigar for twenty minutes. Then I got the brilliant idea to ask him where Mike was and he said Mike was in the dressing room eating dinner. I asked if he could help us meet him but then the crew guy returned his bike. He told me if anyone gave us shit to tell them we were with Jason Freese and he winked and drove off to pick up two friends.

Then Mike walked out and walked to his bus, I saw him and screamed his name and started walking towards him. Security came out of no where and started pushing us back and Mike was walking towards us, he looked like he was trying to remember who I was because we were the ONLY two to get past security that night. Lauren was like "Dude, we're with Jason Freese, it's okay." and the security guard was like "I don't care, he doesn't own the place." And were dicks, but I guess they have to be, and Mike walked up to me and stood so close our faces were like, three inches away from each other (he is a lot shorter in person xD) and looked REALLY confused until I stuck out my hand and introduced myself then he realized he didn't know me and grinned, shook my hand, asked how I thought the show was and I told him it was fantastic and I went to one in Tampa. I then asked if I could have a picture and handed my phone to his body guard. Mike wrapped his arm around me and his body guard was like "I can't see anything, it's dark..." and I was like "Can we move into the light?" but then I realized a bunch of fans who were at the barriers would see and probably ambush him then security was all "Mike, you've got to go" and Mike gets this grin on his face and says "You guys have flashlights! Do something useful for once!" And three security guards pulled out flashlights and like, blinded us and Mike was like "Mike used his brain! .... FUCK! Fucking flood us, why don't you?" And then I got three pictures, my friend got in and we got two pictures as a group, I got my phone back and Mike touched my thigh and looked at me and was like "Be good, mama." And he walked away with security.

Lauren and I ran through the barrier and like, collapsed. Everyone was staring and then I shouted "I met Mike Dirnt and Jason Freese" and Lauren had to explain the story while I hugged my mom and tried to remember how to breathe.

I was really calm when I was talking to them and everything, I don't know how I managed it but I was COMPLETELY normal though on the inside I was spazzing. For me that just proves that God exists because not getting caught and meeting Mike out of all of them was a fucking miracle. Here are pictures though.

Okay, I'm done. I also met Adrienne but that's another story for another time.

Hahaha thanks. It was wicked intense. When we were crouched there (I was in a whtie ish shirt and I've got white blonde hair) the security on the golf cart kept driving by and I was like "IF WE DON'T MOVE THEY WON'T SEE US" and apparently it worked because he drove by like, ten times and we were golden. And right behind us was teh barrier so I'm sure those fans had a great shot of us. It was... like I said, a miracle.
