gabbag Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I met them, and I was talking to Mike about my 45 insert necklace because he said he liked it and was telling me about his shoes and then was showing me his 45 tattoo, although he wasnt sure what arm it was on. And my mom was talking to Billie Joe about how they have the same birthday. Yea and I kinda wish I had talked to them more but I was being all shy and awkward...

Guest Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 so after i met tre on thursday...we creeped around downtown nashville all day looking for billie and mike, but no luck.at like...midnight we drove past their hotel and mike was standing outside smoking a cigarette, so we hurried up and parked and went back to talk to him but by the time we got there he was already gone then yesterday while we were waiting in line for the concert we heard that mike was walking around downtown so me and a few other people from the line went to look for him..and we found him in a bbq resteraunt! haha he saw us in there and said he didnt want to take pictures because then hed be stuck doing that all day but he was superrr nice and told us to watch out for each other during the show sooo now ive met all of them except billie. he was nowhere to be found
hoistthecolors Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 so i went to radio city with a couple of friends to watch the stars arrive at the vma's, and for some reason, it completely slipped my mind that green day would even be attending.btw, did anyone know they have an announcer for the red carpet? ... well they do, hahaha.we got spots right across from where the stars exit their cars and head up to the red platform, take a few pics, then move on to the red carpet. so we're watching, people are screaming, cameras are flashing.. and then all of a sudden 'ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for green dayyyy!'i didn't know what to do. i was maybe fifty feet away from the box, directly across the street, and before i knew it the three of them were hopping up the steps, and the crowd went crazy (which made me happy). but there they were-- out of concert, out of a tv screen, no satellite delays between us. just breathing, laughing, wonderful individuals. mike climbed up on the barricades to see the super-fans, tre was being his usual crazy self, and billie his laughing, secret genius. i felt so helpless. all i've ever wanted is to be able to tell them how much they did for me, and many others; to make them realize and see how much of an influence and inspiration they are. and they were there and i was across the street, and there was nothing i could do, but everything that i'd done and everything they'd done had led up to that moment and we still weren't close enough.it was one of the worst feelings i think i've ever experienced; being that close to idols and not being able to do a thing. it was still great to see them, but.. what a weird situation.has anyone else had a similar experience?

I saw Mike at Rudy's once and didn't want to bother him because he was with his family, but every one else was bothering him, which I thought was super douchey. I've had similar experiences with Billie and Tré. I know exactly how you feel; it's very bittersweet.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I don't understand why people ask,"what did billie smell like" when someone hugs them during a concert up on stage. Obvious he smells like sweat.

-Billiejoezee- Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 If i saw Billie joe on the street i'd run away.im not joking i'd be soo nervous and embarrased so i'd run away before he sees me wearing a GD shirt.

hoistthecolors Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I wouldn't really wanna talk to them,i mean just stand there and tell them what they hear all the time, how much they've inspired me?in a way, yesss. i'd wanna let them know how much they'd done for me. i think they'd appreciate it. with the right words =)
Lauren Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Nah, you gotta say something totally random so that they remember you! No offense or anything. I mean, I would want to tell them how much they mean to me. but I'd only do that if I got in a long conversation with them. just make sure you don't wear tie-dye, otherwise Tre will be a jerk to you.
