xluckyscrubs13x Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Damn this thread is making me really jealous O.oThe most famous person I have met is Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship.I plan to stalk out Rod Laver in December to meet GD but that place is so freakin hard to meet people at.Then again that was where I met Gabe.... yeah wrecked myself there Can someone just abduct them for me? Please?
emmaILGD! Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Can someone just abduct them for me? Please?I'm working on it.
Isabel Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 The one time I went there in July 2007 every time somebody opened the door me and my friend would shoot a glance to see if it was him. No luck Yeah, he wasn't there when we went either. ...but that was most likely due to the fact that they were in LA playing the Foxboro Hot Tubs shows and well, we all know that it's tricky being in two places at once. It'll be great when I meet them. They'll think I'm class and even more so when I buy them endless pints of Guinness and break out the Horslips and Dubliners tunes in that tiny pub on Kildare Street. Billie Joe will dance jigs and reels on the counter while Mike plays the spoons and Tre accompanies on the uilleann pipes.

XDI'm thinking next summer if they're done touring or taking a break at least, my friend and I will probably road trip out to CA for a week just to wander around, maybe go to a few shows... Definitely visit Rudy's while we're there, even if we don't meet any of the guys, just to say we went.

Guniness is just to dark for me and I would find something to play as well

I love my Bulmers Light  Ok, I've been thinking. I was going to let you play the bodhrán, but now I've decided to promote you to fiddle.

I'm fucking excited even if I don't see them
fashionvictim86 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 So, my neighbors cousin is married to the band manager (Bill S-also the bass player of PHGP and one of GD's guitar techs).I love Bill. He's so sweet and he's a pretty fucking great guy. Him and Chris Dugan (the band's photographer) came up to us at the San Francisco Recording Academy Grammy Honors that Green Day was at. I didn't know Bill was married though. I saw him at the Philly show on Tuesday and I was so excited to see him. I screamed his name but he didn't see/hear me.I have now met all 3 guys. They are all sooooo sweet. I mean if you catch them when they are going somewhere, especially when they need to be there in a hurry, then they may be short with you. Or if they are just trying to have a good time....don't pest them for an autograph if they say no. OR if it's after a show. I mean c'mon...it's exhausting! I mean, ask once, and let it be the end of it if they say no. I mean....if you got to see them, and get in range where they can hear you....that should be good enough! I mean geez, these guys hear it ALL THE TIME. Wouldn't you get sick of people wanting to talk to you, sign something, take a picture with you ALL THE TIME? I would. We all get in bad moods, famous or not.
Iwannajumpout Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Him and Chris Dugan (the band's photographer) came up to us at the San Francisco Recording Academy Grammy Honors that Green Day was at.I thought Dugan was their recording engineer? *checks inside of CD case* Or is there two of them with the same name? Also, in keeping with the topic, I have not met them, but near misses have occurred. I went to the bar when they were in town and later learned I missed them by like minutes. Argh.

Sweet the fiddle ill try and play in tune too
Andy17 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 After the show in Philly ,with much patience Mike took the time to meet some fans for a bit, and even gave me an autograph with a conversation
GreenDay808 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 aww these guys are amazingly sweet as i hear.i've never personally met them, i like in hawai'i and they don't come here.i wish i could meet them, that's a big goal of mine. i NEED to met tre cool at least once, and i'll be happy for the rest of my life.i was reading and saw that he can be kinda mean sometimes, he ignored someone! i hope he's not always like that.but mike is the sweetheart, and billie is a sweetie too.i really wanna meet mike now(:

I don't blame him for not wanting to talk to 7648932493487137834 screaming fans if he was in a pissy mood. I know how it feels to be talked to by like 50 different people at once when you don't want to be talked to.. Mostly has been happening to me for the play I'm doing this year. But I hope when (Yes WHEN ) you get the opportunity he's in a good mood It's also possible he probably didn't hear the person talking to him.
Radioactive1 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I don't know why people get uptight about them ignoring people? Imagine you on an "off day" the last thing you'd want to do is stop talk, sign autographs and take pictures with people. They're human beings and can ignore people if they wish.I'm not even going to try and meet them this tour. Tbh I'm just thankful enough that I get to see them play live Thats enough for me.
Boston Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 should i tell billie he says ya know too much?im going to see him at the end of the monthor would that be rudeis that a real question? "You're my idol, I love your music, one more thing, let me criticize you."
Opezi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 ^ lol. ok if i get to meet green day, what are some advice on how to act and what to do? and what to say lol

I do hope if I ever get the opportunity to meet him that he would be in a somewhat good mood where he would be willing to talk to me for a few minutes and would want to give an autograph and take a picture.

Opezi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 How are you meeting them?my uncle was a roadee at one of their concerts and met them before and might get to hook something up
GDM Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 ^ lol. ok if i get to meet green day, what are some advice on how to act and what to do? and what to say lolI know people who are celebrities from when I went to theater school at NYU and living in NYC, I also have had the opportunity to meet famous people occasionally. The best thing to do is treat them like human beings and not gods, they get that shit all the time from people and it irks them. Just be cool, as if you are having a conversation with Living Human Beings who are interesting. Number one rule: Don't Scream! I was a PA on Laurie Anderson's film, "Home of the Brave" back in 80s and I had the opportunity to drive William S. Burroughs from Manhattan to the film shoot in New Jersey. I was a nervous wreck and could barely contain myself, but I managed somehow to have short bursts of conversation with him and his boyfriend because I treated him like a person and not "THE" William S. Burroughs. I was just a mess inside, though. Don't overdo it with the cool, but don't act like a fangirl/boy either. That is my advice. Good luck!
emmaILGD! Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 ^ lol. ok if i get to meet green day, what are some advice on how to act and what to do? and what to say lolJust breathe and maybe try and say something funny. Don't be all like ''OMG I LOVE YOU WILL YOU SIGN THIS AUSUSDFBDFBDHFSKDUYFDFB''.
