netty Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 you could tell is was Jason?? Well I for one have never heard him say a word....i don't think.not seen behind the music? or whatever other documentaries there have been about green day? I might not have met green day but I have had a lift off Jason and Janna. yes, I am going to bloody brag about it. I`ve read enough about other fans meeting people connected to the band, or the band themselves, so I`m going to do my own bit. probably came across as a total dork to them. but I didnt do anything totally out of character. I was sober as well! still think gilman is a bloody dump!
Maru Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 well..I've never even talked to them =(but I went to a concert..and it's a lot to say for someone who lives in Peru
The Judges Daughter Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I know a guy who's head of the Irish street team and he got to meet the band before they played in Dublin. He had to present them with some award or something. Not only that, he's really good at bass and guitar....so naturally he was picked to go on stage and play bass for Knowledge. I hate him. :whistling:Theres a street team here??Wow i am so out of touchNever met 'em

queen_for_a_day05 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Awwwww I feel so left out I have never met anybody from my fav band coz they never come out here I did go to their last 2 show that they did out here in Australia but that is about it I kno that one day I will meet them Lets just hope that I don't act like a blubbering fool lol
1997 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Yeah I have met them a few times unexpectedly! The first time was probably the worst for me as I was in a pub blind drunk! I was just sitting at the bar drinking away and these guys walk in and order drinks at the bar. I noticed they had american accents, so I said hello and commented on their accent. Talked the usual stuff are you holidaying etc etc. Tre pipes up says they are on tour. I replied what's the name of your band? And of he says Greenday. I cracked up laughing and said yeah right! Then they cracked up laughing yeah really. And through my blurry drunken state I managed to put their faces into focus just as one of my friends came up and said hey you guys are greenday!!!!!!! This was back in 1997. We chatted for a while mainly laughed and really I can't remember that much except it was a good experience. The other couple of times I have met them over the years are at pubs unexpectedly and just said hello. They are cool people.
Morgaine Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I can't believe I haven't posted here already.Nope, I've never met them. But I still hope some day I will.
littlelune2003 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I don't know that I ever want to meet them. What happens if they aren't as nice as I hope they are? I'd be gutted!

What happens if they aren't as nice as I hope they are? I'd be gutted!I think from everyone's experiences posted they seem nice enough. Knowing the peeps on this board, they would've said otherwise. Sometimes you can just tell from ppl's faces that they are nice, and well they seem pretty nice. I know, my bf has the same problem as you.
Kitty Kat Kate Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I haven't really met them but they have a summer house next door to my friend and me and her were jamming one time and then got into basketcase some how. they were getting out of their car to go in the house, and heard us playing and me singing and complemented us on our playing through my friends window. I of course laughed it off. Since we were terrible haha.

Maybe telling myself I don't want to meet them for that reason helps squash the disappointment of never getting to meet them. I am hardly likely to bump into them in a supermarket or anywhere else anytime soon!yeah I wont bump into them anytime soon either. I'd LOVE to meet the guys, if they happen to not be as nice as I thought they were, then at least I tried to make an effort to meet them. Better than making assumptions. You never know until you really talk to them.

Sunshine2385 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 To be honest, I'd be so nervous and I'd find it hard to stay as calm as possible. But, then on the other hand, I'd talk to the guys the way I talk to my friends. Although that's probably a bad idea since my friends already think I'm weird.

.Spiffy. Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 In response to a post several pages ago...Billie peed on the crowd? That's really disgusting. And how do people get backstage passes? In that Green Day bio by Marc Spitz, Nobody Likes You, there was this girl who said she went to a Green Day concert and got chosen to play Knowledge or something. She said Billie hugged her and kissed her. I was wondering if that was a French kiss, or just a peck? I know Billie always kisses a guy at concerts, but I wondered if he ever kisses girls, or if girls ever kiss him, and if so, what is his reaction? Anyone who can supply that information is my best friend.
