novacaine_kid Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I tend to agree with you about with American Idiot being operatic but I still can't help but love it.. I actually feel kinda bad for saying its my least favorite. I mean its a hell of a piece of work, and i do still listen to it occasionally when the feeling takes me. But i guess im a sucker for the "old green day" even though i think the new album will be more of the same AI style, won't stop me from loving it I'm sure

Do you know what I mean? Less layered...
mel. Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 FOD's your least favorite? That song's flawless!!It's one of my favorite songs by Green Day in general...^^'' I think it's a bit boring song... and it has the point that nothing is heard...but otherwise it's really good (:
novacaine_kid Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 See I think that 21CB will be a more broken down piece then AI. Do you know what I mean? Less layered...I do get ya. I guess my impression has been altered by hearing that demo. I do think it will be less structured than AI as well, i guess i never really got into the whole storyline idea of the album but it works somehow. I just kinda miss the old Nimrod/Warning era green day. Although i don't blame them for taking the direction they did

I used to love it but then I overplayed it and now it sickens me when I hear that album. I'm on an Insomniac binge right now.

And yet a lot of people i know consider it to be a weak album

And yet a lot of people i know consider it to be a weak albumI think what happened was that people heard and went along with the hype that Insomniac was a flop filled with darker tones(since when is that a bad thing?). I actually consider Insomniac a lot more happy than Nimrod. Not more then Warning though. There is so much joy in that album it makes me think they were on Prozac...

I actually believe that song was probably a parody.

novacaine_kid Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I don't know but Billie sounded like Santa Claus on Zanax at Disneyland getting laid....What an interesting analogy! I'll never hear that song in the same way again haha.I'm starting to get very analytical over the albums now, i'm sat here trying to pick apart kerplunk. Another great album in my opinion. Great tunes done on a shoestring budget
permanent_insanity Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Yep....those pill stealing bastards..... I should sue them
Dylan. Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Rotting is pretty goodDominated Love Slave was shitYes but just so damn funny....What an interesting analogy! Great tunes done on a shoestring budgetI'm less ecstatic about Kerplunk. There are some good songs on there but no many of them are very memorable....
stxrlesseyes Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 King for a Day or Hitchin' a Ride.Whoa, I just got this insane urge to watch Bullet In A Bible. Just for King for a Day

novacaine_kid Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I dont really analize 1039 and Kerplunk, it sounds like a lot of things I've written recentlyGotta admit the lyrics are very standard on a lot of the songs. But they were very young and inexperienced. I just love the sound of the album, the rawness. Tunes like 2000 light years away, although pretty basic, still have a power to them
