or maybe i'd just say "could you lend me a few bucks? for example 200?"

It seems contradictory to say that you wouldn't talk to them because you don't know them and then to say that you would ask them for money! you don't know them enough to talk to them but you should ask them money...

I would say, "while you guys are getting this stuff taken care of I will be on GDC board. Let me know when dinner is ready."

I would obviously do what I do whenever I get nervous about meeting someone. (a job interview is a good example). Which would be run off at the mouth 90 words a minute, while stumbling over pronounciations of even the most simple words. Don't think I'd cry though. Maybe just giggle a lot like a stupid girl. They would walk away saying, "She's our age? she sounded like she was 12. What a fuckin idiot."
